Laethi Aasimar

pesit zokh (/pesit zoχ/ , communal spirit)   The Laethi, also known as the Pesit Zokh, are a group of aasimar. An aasimar is considered intrinsically a Pesit Zokh when they first reincarnate based on their skin being vermilion with golden geometric markings, reminiscent of Laetha.   The Pesit Zokh aasimar tend to hold similar cultural ideas related to Laetha's principles. It is not unheard of for a different sentient to follow the Pesit Zokh style of life and culture. If they show enough piety and devotion to the way of life, the aasimar will welcome them.

This expression is a bit of a facade -- it is not done with the intent to foster personal relationships between another and the aasimar. Instead, it is meant to be an example for other sentients to follow.   The Pesit Zokh is a high-context culture, roughly a value of 8 according to On the Nature of Culture. They do strive to be flexible when interacting with lower-context cultures.

Common Dress code

Pesit Zokh wear vermillion, crimson, maroon, or saffron robes that celebrate their grace and beauty. Shining jewelry of copper, brass, and gold with ruby ornamentation is frequently with ceremonial garb. The formal motif includes trumpet vines and the crowns often have a hummingbird motif. They value beauty, grace, and aesthetics.

Ideals

Beauty Ideals

Pesit Zokh have vermillion or crimson skin that glitters liek copper. Bold, simple geometric patterns (lines, arcs, etc.) of gold are symmetrically distributed across the skin from head to toe. Like most aazimar, Pesit Zokh have no hair on their body, but some have recently adopted to wearing ornate wigs when outside Atina.   Pesit Zokh favor vermillion, saffron, crimson, and maroon robes embroidered with golden thread. The fashion is reminiscent of traditional Indian or Khmer clothing in design with strong lily themes.   The physical body is a beautiful thing, and thus Pesit Zokh prize physical aesthetics and design.

Gender Ideals

Because aasimar do not need to form breeding couples to propagate, Pesit Zokh have little in structured gender ideals. Both male and female assigned at birth aasimar are fully capable of fulfilling any role. However, maturity does have ideals.   A freshly reincarnated aasimar has enough knowledge to function in the world, but little in actual experience. They are like children to the Pesit Zokh and are given room to visit communities, hospitals, cities, and trade routes. After about five years of exploration and adventure, the Pesit Zokh are expected to settle into a role in the world to fulfill Laetha's will.

Courtship Ideals

Out of all the aasimar ethnicities, Pesit Zokh are the most likely to form romantic relationships. Love, beauty, life, and community are crucial to a Pesit Zokh. Many Pesit Zokh have inspired artists, helped the down-trodden, and created a close network of allies. It is easy for the Peta Zokh to form fleeting romantic relationships with people, but a truly deep relationship centered around devotion is rare.   When a Pesit Zokh identifies someone they wish to pursue with deep romantic intent, they will propose their interest through song and poetry. The process of courtship can take months of artistic exchange, but will eventually lead to the Pesit Zokh presenting a ring to their beloved. If accepted, then the Pesit Zokh's heart is devoted to their beloved for the rest of this life.

Relationship Ideals

Aasimar, being fairly unsexual beings, don't have the same drive as other sentients. However, out of all the aasimar ethnicities, Pesit Zokh are the most likely to form a sexual relationship. In all relationships, though, Pesit Zokh prioritize honestly, trust, and loyalty.
