Cloudgarden
Cloudgarden is the heart of the city, wealthy mingle with merchants and craftsmen. Crime is mostly a problem in other districts, and mere survival not as much of a concern.
Demographics
Most of the district's residents are humans, with a smattering of elves, dwarves, gnomes and even a few greenskins. The average citizen is upper-middle class, and ambitious.
Government
Each street votes on an elector, who combines with those electors from other streets to nominate three electors to represent the district to the city. This council also assigns edlers to perform the necessary task forces required to maintain the city and respond to issues. A Sheriff oversees his own deputies, the city watch, and the night watch of the area.
Defences
The Sheriff is in charge of protecting the locals from both crime and should the worst happen, invading forces. To maintain control, he has his own bevy of hand selected deputies for the more robust problems. Additionally, he maintains the city watch, guards chosen more for their interest in steady pay than their actual ability, and the night watch, which is staffed by petty criminals as part of their penance. In the worst of times, he also has a standing contract with the Bounty Hunter's Lodge to provide skilled warriors.
Industry & Trade
Most of the trade is done on a small, local scale with small shops arranged in markets, some indoor and some outdoor. Craftsmen take orders and most have a whole flock of staff and apprentices to help them with the workload. Overall, business thrives even in the lean times.
Infrastructure
The bulk of city planning, roads, markets, aqueducts, etc. are located in this district. Outside of Llanfyll, the district boasts the most comfortable living conditions in the Maecodian Confederation
Districts
Cloudgarden is meticulously zoned, with residential areas bordered by economic zones and commercial malls for maximum efficiency and convenience.
Assets
While a few factories are extant, the stores in the area largely focus on finished goods and craftsmen for hire. An offshoot of the Bounty Hunter's Lodge provides security for the businesses and even some of the more upscale homes.
Guilds and Factions
The Bounty Hunter's Lodge exercises some control and privilege. Additionally, this district sports the largest enclave of Deminites, and even one of their remaining Cathedrals. Additionally, Clan Zazerac owns an outsized amount of property and business in the area, and enjoys the subsequent power that goes with it.
