A multitude of visitors arrive in the town of Ljuk in anticipation of the annual meeting of the Speakers from each town. The town sees a number of business transactions, and jubilation over the story that the The Antiquarian Association has slain Auril, Ice Witch .
The speaker from Dougan's Hole is conspicuously absent. Nimsey Huddle reports that the Lonelywood contingent passed by Dougan's Hole on their way to the meeting and saw no activity.
The council meeting itself proceeds with little drama. All speakers agree to stop submitting sacrifices to Auril . Naerth Maxildanarr makes a radical proposal to move the primary port of Kalte to Easthaven .

Avarice approaches Tripitika and Dante in an attempt to convince them to give up their partnership with Velynne Harpell . She brings up Velynne Harpell 's theft of Kant and betrayal of her teammates in Diggers Inc. . Later, Tripitika and Dante compare notes, and settle on trusting the necromancer they know over the devil they don't.
The The Antiquarian Association meet up with several old contacts.
- They meet with Roger Stayer who delivers their first deposits from the Chardelyn trade.
- The Alfar, or halfling bard Rinaldo Walker meets up with them to get the direct story of Auril, Ice Witch 's death.
- The bounty hunter Katelynn touches base, and informs them she is heading south as soon as possible.
The council meeting itself proceeds with little drama. The speakers come to agreements with a few standout issues.
- All speakers agree to quit submitting sacrifices to Auril, Ice Witch .
- Some speakers, lead by Naerth Maxildanarr propose to move Kalte 's main port to Easthaven
- The new speaker for Sunblight Fortress , Durth Solderth , introduces himself and his goal to become a part of the Kalte political discussions.
- The hunter Atenas Swift proposes that teh towns pool their resources to hunt down the Ice Witches of Kalte . This is tabled for further discussion.
