Yaw
The One Who Rules the Waves
The Primal Elemental of Water, she is creator and patron deity of the Eleyaw.
Divine Domains
As the primal embodiment of water, Yaw holds dominion over all things related to water, but her primary domain is over the oceans of Vatenrelm. Her divine followers gain access to the Island, Law, Ocean, Water, and Weather domains, as well as the Flotsom, Flowing, Legislation, Monsoon, and Oceans subdomains.
Artifacts
Yaw can shape water at will, and thus has little need for a personal weapon. She has many artifacts and magical pearls stored away in the depths of the Endless Ocean. Back in the distant past, Yaw crafted the Conch of the Sea, a magical shell imbued with her essence and allowing whoever held it great power of the creatures of the depths. However, the Conch was stolen by Nilbi, who then hid the Conch away on the mortal plane, where it was found by the first of the Pirate Kings, who eventually removed the magical pearls from the Conch and distributed them among the Pirate Lords. The Conch remained hidden and incomplete until the legendary pirate, Captian Lancrik, lead the Lancrik Pirates to reforge the Conch and become the new Pirate King.
Holy Books & Codes
As books are a rare commodity in the Kingdom of the Waves and the Church of the Endless Ocean, most of the holy text is communicated in images through artifacts known as Steins of Living Water. This items allow for images of the past and words of wisdom to form in the water of their own accord.
The collection of stories that convey the code of the Church of the Endless Ocean is known as the Testement of the Tides. It details the formation of the Ocean and the division of the tidal forces, and how many things that appear chaotic on the surface, are in-fact well controlled by forces beyond mortal perception.
Divine Symbols & Sigils
Yaws holy symbol is a churning whirlpool.
Tenets of Faith
Yaws divine followers must adhere to the following code
- Yaw is the one true ruler of the waves. I shall not allow others to to proclaim false ownership or attempt to bend the waves to their whims.
- While the waves may seem chaotic to the mortal eye, they move in accordance to Yaws divine will. I will not question those movements.
- I shall strive to protect the Eleyaw, as they have been ordained by Yaw to act on the water on her behalf.
- Just as water always flows in accordance to Yaw's wants, I shall always act in the service of the church, and not attempt to swim against the waves.
- Like a crashing wave of a great storm, I shall build up my force for the opportune moment. When I finally strike, I shall hold nothing back.
- The waves ebb and flow, both providing bounty and bringing destruction. I shall always remember to respect their power while I journey through Yaw's domain.
Holidays
Days of the full moon are considered lucky days, as they increase the highet of the tides, but the Church of the Endless Ocean celebrate several offical holidays.
Firsttide: The 1st full moon of the year, which typically falls on the 7th of Vata. It is a day of celebrating the successful onset of the new year, as the "tides of the new year" have successfully reset. It is a day mostly spent with close friends and family after a larger new-years celebration.
Establismenship: Held on 17th of Armara, it is a day celebrating the foundation of the Kingdom of the Waves and a day of thanks to Yaw for the continued bounty of the Realm. It is a large-scale ceremony involving many water-based activities, such as swimming and fishing, as well as blessing newly crafted boats before their maiden voyages.
Preparation Day Held on the last day of Fall, the 40th of Kura, it is a day for the community to work together to finish the final preperations for Vatenrelms intense winters.
Divine Goals & Aspirations
Yaw is primarily concerned with the movement of the tides and the protection of elemental water, and thus has few goals. She prefers not to meddle in the mortal world, allowing for her emissaries in the Kingdom of the Waves to interpret and enact her will.

Mental characteristics
Personal history
As one of the four Primal Elementals, Yaw is one the oldest beings in creations. When she emerged from the World Tree, she was responsible for the crafting the majority of Vatenrelm and its oceans. Yaw spent several decades feuding with the Alpha in the Age of Creation, when it wandered into her territory and disrupted her creation of the tides. The conflict between them gave birth to several demigods, and eventually Yaw realized the Alpha's importance and forgave his trespass.
Yaw helped aid mortals in the battle against the Titans, but a large portion of her essence was frozen by Chrius when he turned his breath against her, and thus was not able to act much in the conflict. It is believed that this is one of the reasons why half of Vatenrelm is always in the depths of a winter's chill.
Gender Identity
When manifesting, Yaws' shape usually takes a more slender shape usually associated with a female, but as a true deity, Yaw can and does change her form and perceived gender often.
Accomplishments & Achievements
Together with the dwarven god Sartos, Yaw experimented and created the different liquids of the world. At the end of their study, they crafted the first alcohol, and with the first inebriation, she and Sartos conceived Kiilf, the dwarven god of Ale and Brewing. While she acknowledges the advancements she made during this time, she views the loss of control and the free-spirited nature of Kiilf a bit of an embarrassing story.
Failures & Embarrassments
Mip theft of one of Yaws' first pearls, which transformed into Nilbi, the halfing god of Stealth, still angers Yaw to this day, and Yaw still views Nilbi as her property.
Yaw's feud with the Alpha ended in her defeat almost every time, as the monster she sent to attack him often mutated and gained wills of their own. Her first herald was a massive beast sent to consume the Alpha, but it was granted freedom and mind by the Alpha, and it fled to Ixuil, becoming the demigoddess Sobek. She than sent a swarm of vicious fish to swarm the Alpha, but in their bloodlust they turned and devoured each other, mutating into the hideous demigoddess Maw, which was so offensive that Yaw banished her to the depths of the Deep Realm.
Yaw despies Neko and Gib, as Neko agreed to a deal to serve her during her ascent to godhood, but fooled Yaw using a replica of her body using her own fur, which would later become Gib. Thus, Yaw and her followers often demand payment forom followers of Nekoan gods for percieved wrongs.
