Hiroji Yamato
Imperial Scribe Hiroji Yamato
Hiroji Yamato is an unmarried member of the main branch of the Yamato Dynasty. He is a court poet, author, and third-place finisher in the Shou imperial exams.
Life
Hiroji was born and raised in Tokuyama. He was groomed by leadership by his father, Fumihiro Yamato, but failed to meet his expectations and was subjected to beatings and abuse at his hand. Taking an interest in literature, Hiroji retreated into writing and reading, slowly cutting himself off from political ambition. He was recently betrothed to Hanako Fujiwara, but the arrangement fell through after Hanako was caught sleeping with her cousin Kazuyuki Anzai.Personality
Hiroji is deeply introverted and disinterested in politics, and spends most of his time on creative endeavors such as reading or writing. He is intelligent and an extremely quick learner, with his foray into literature netting a third place finish in the 1198 Shou imperial examinations. Despite his accomplishments, he sees himself as boring and socially lacking and thus undesirable. His only lifelong friend has been his half-sister, Akari Anzai, whom he desires to protect.
