Kensei Kaoru Wakabayashi

Kaoru Wakabayashi is the Sword Saint of the Shou Empire. He went undefeated with a perfect 8-0 dueling record in the 1198 interregnum sword saint tournament to win the title following the death of Lucius Florus. He is from Hayasaki, and was not widely known before the contest.

Fighting Style

Kaoru's swordsmanship is underpinned a mastery of the martial arts and his own ki, allowing him to move much quicker than his opponents and unleash fast flurries of swipes. He consistently looks to defeat opponents by stunning them with a sword strike to a pressure point, incapacitating them instantly. His style has been notably disliked by some members of the Shou court, with his lack of his physical strength often cited as a grievance.
