The House of the Coinmaiden

Set along one of the only cobbled streets in Mythrite, The House of the Coinmaiden stands as the only temple to Waukeen in the region. Waukeen is the goddess of trade, commerce, and to a lesser extent, civilization. Fittingly, the temple serves as a bank and an exchange house for the town. Her clergy facilitate the storage, investment, and exchange of currencies, as well as overseeing the signing of contracts of all kinds such a leases or trade agreements. As such, the clergy have a significant amount of knowledge about the goings on within Mythrite and the professional community. Despite the small size of the temple and the clergy within, they wield a large amount of power due to their knowledge and influence.        The temple contains a foyer, a small alter set besides two wooden pews, a long counter behind which most clergy sit counting their sums, four private cubicles for contract signing, a main office for the head Priestess, the vault, a small kitchen, and small cells in back for the clergy.        The clergy themselves wear plain grey robes trimmed with golden thread (not real gold, they’re not that rich), and carry a large book chained to their bodies detailing every contract or transaction they’ve ever overseen. These books are highly valued in criminal circles, and so acquiring one might be a quick way to wealth, though the clergy take oaths to defend their tomes with their lives. Any professional in Mythrite will have signed at least one document in the presence of one the Coinmaiden’s priests
