Dragon

The apex predators and sovereigns of the Dragonlands. Among the oldest species on the plane, they have existed since the 2nd Age. Blessed with intelligence, resilience, strength, flight, and elemental powers, they were among Calamity's first creations. During the Reign of the Dragon Tyrant, many of the dragons, being still young adults, were conscripted into their service as agents of destruction. Following the loss of their tyrant, many dragons sought to fill their place, spreading their domination across the plane. Standing against them were the Giants, who sought to wipe all traces of the Dragon Tyrant's memory from existence.   Over time, many sub-species of dragons came into being. The Wyverns, Drakes, Amphiteres, and Wyrms. While mighty enough to instill the fear of their ancestors, they lack the legendary destructive power of the true dragons.   Some believe that, since Ulthgar the Patient was the first dragon, they are the God of Dragons. This theory is exceedingly difficult to confirm, however. What few dragons are old enough to remember the 2nd Age rarely take such questions, being more likely to exterminate any fool who asks them if Ulthgar is their God.
