Coral Beach

Appearance

Coral Beach is a seaside town nestled along the coast of the mushroom forest. The beach contains a sandy shore filled with vibrant corals with strong colors and sandglass brought in by the waves. A tall lighthouse guides the ships that sail past like a beacon. Through its history, a ship graveyard with remnants of ship vessels has formed due to a horrible storm. It is now seen as an oddly beautiful underwater sanctuary for marine life and a reminder of different tales and stories. The town has embraced this as a symbol of remembrance and resilience.

Demographic

An equal mix of earthbenders, firebenders, waterbenders, and airbenders populates the small town, fostering a diverse and tightly-knit community. Residents harmonize their elemental abilities together in order to coexist with the natural beauty of the seaside and contribute to the town's resilience and vibrant atmosphere.

Government

The town operates under a council called the Storyteller's Circle, a group of skilled individuals recognized for their ability to convey the town's stories and traditions. Members would present their proposals for the town in the form of stories, incorporating the town's history, values, and bonds. Each member of the Storyteller's Circle represents one of the elements to ensure a balance of different narratives. The Grand Taleweaver, a respected individual chosen for their wisdom and deep understanding of the town’s collective history, then forms the overall narrative and puts it into action.

Path to Interconnected Bonds

Coral Beach adheres to the Path to Interconnected Bonds, placing importance on the stories of others and how they connect them. Histories, tales, and legends are told in words to connect people to leaders, loved ones, and heroes. Sharing a positive story is a sign of respect for the protagonists of the story; likewise, sharing a negative story is a sign of contempt.

Ship Graveyard Gatherings

Story-telling gatherings are held regularly by the ship graveyard, where residents come together to share stories, both new and old. Salvaged materials from the shipwrecks are repurposed into huts for shelter. Marine life keeps the people company as the residents gather to connect with the community, celebrate achievements, and reinforce the town's traditions. Occasionally, the town celebrates anniversaries of famous stories through festivals, where the people bond over the stories of famous legends.

Trade and Commerce

Coral Beach also thrives on trade, with ships from Evershroom and ships all the way from Titanbark, docking at its harbor. The town's marketplace bustles with a variety of goods and services. The most successful booths usually contain delicacies from different regions. Some booths accept a tale as payment if the tale satisfies the seller.

Interpretation of Paradise

In the Coral Beach, the concept of Paradise is envisioned as the Eternal Tapestry, a special artifact where every story, every life, and every moment are woven together into an intricate, ever-expanding narrative. The tales of the living and the departed are interwoven and connected, creating a boundless collection of stories. Every individual contributes to the story of existence. To obtain Paradise, one must not only find the Eternal Tapestry but also be able to interpret its woven patterns. Only then can they make use of the infinite repository of stories and knowledge.
