Vampire

A vampire looks very much like it did when alive, but with paler skin, hardened and feral features giving them a predatory aspect, and red eyes that are hard to forget. Their hands are clawed. They do not cast shadows and had no reflections in mirrors. Vampires enjoy fine things and engaging in decadent behavior, sharing such habits with liches. A vampire is almost always a creature of evil. If it was not evil in life, it became so in undeath. They are divided into clans, each one having their own characteristics, quirks, and preferred hunting grounds.   The legends state it that there were no vampires in the Second Age, Godswar and they began their journey just after the first Goldbloods appeared in the Third Age, Kingdoms. Envious tribes saw the majesty given to the Goldbloods and wanted some of that for themselves. Without the blood of the Divine King, they chose the second best thing - the blood of the Goldbloods themselves and started to hunt them down. Some retellings of these stories tell about Vecna using his influence or guidance in their creation, while others say it was the Divine King himself or even the Sunlord. Whatever the reason was, if not just over time, these tribes started to change, becoming the first vampires. They became the night hunters, seeking tasty golden blood for themselves. There is power in the blood, as such over time vampires grow stronger and can influence not only other mortals but the surrounding land, creating families or clans of vampires, the head vampire being able to not find his offspring but to assert its dominance with his powers. The first vampires are said to be mythical in terms of strength but many historians say that these creatures perished long ago.

On Tethys

The most famous vampire nation is Draklor and there are many vampires in Lepidia but this is counting those that are public with their nature. Many vampires hide their presence, living in ancient castles, behind powerful figures, or deep in forgotten forests. Many Goldbloods see these vampires as the biggest abominations that exist as their blood is holy and taking it, even as a gift, is heretical in their eyes.

First World

It is unknown how the first vampires appeared in the First World. There are stories that a powerful vampire helped the mortal First Gods.
