Metallic Dragon Council
The Metallic Dragon Council is a non-governmental body that represents the best interests of metallic dragons, typically only coming together during times of great importance.
The most recent summoning of this council was during the Great Dragon War, when the metallic dragons convened to determine the best course of action to prevent Tiamat from being summoned to the Prime Material Plane. Ultimately, the council chose to align themselves with the Council of Waterdeep, thanks to the actions of the Breadwinners.

Structure
The Metallic Dragon Council is made of of five ancient dragons from the five different species of metallic dragons. Since gold dragons were the first dragons created by Bahamut, one of their number typically runs the council.

In addition, the dragons were serviced by kobold servants that had chosen to align themselves away from Tiamat. In 1492, these servants were led by Shiny Scale V.
History
The original Metallic Dragon Council was formed following the end of the dragon's ancient conflict with giants. Then the dragons turned on one another, following either Tiamat or Bahamut. The Metallic Dragon Council was formed to create a unified front against Tiamat's children.
Over many millennia, the council was reformed whenever a threat would emerge that threatened metallic dragon kind.
In 1492, as a response to the reformed Cult of the Dragon attempting to summon Tiamat to the Prime Material Plane, the Metallic Dragon Council was reformed. The silver dragon representative, Otaarlyiakkarnos, contacted Laeral Silverhand and gave her the opportunity to convince the dragons to join the Council of Waterdeep. Negotiating on their behalf were the Breadwinners.
The members of the Metallic Dragon Council were split on their willingness to aid humanoids. To prove their worth and capability, the Breadwinners fought their way through the corrupted ruin of Ken Asari to retrieve the Staff of Shadowfell Sundering, a rare artifact stolen from the dragon Tazmikella centuries ago. The dragons also demanded an equal split of Tiamat's hoard, the return of armor made from silver dragons, crafted by Mithral Hall during the old dwarven Dragonmoots, a public apology from King Melandrach for the Dracorage Mythal, and the handing over of all the pieces of the Armor of Tiamat.
These were heavy demands, but the Breadwinners agreed to all of them and retrieved the Staff of Shadowfell Sundering cementing their alliance. Tazmikella served as the Metallic Dragon Council's representative on the Council of Waterdeep.
Following the Battle at the Well of Dragons, the Metallic Dragon Council disbanded again after being given a portion of Tiamat's hoard, the Gauntlet of the Black Dragon, and the Draakhorn.
