Bio-Tech Force Enhancement Project
The Bio-Tech Force Enhancement Project was a program developed by the United States Army to continue the work of Project Rebirth and recreate the Super-Soldier Serum used to enhance Steve Rogers.
It was created in response to the September 11th attacks on New York City and the Pentagon.
The project was officially closed down in 2006 due to lack of results, and the transformation of Bruce Banner into a Gamma Mutate. However, General Ross unofficially revived the project, turning Emil Blonsky into the first successful Super-Soldier created in The United States of America since World War II.
This success was short-lived however, as Blonsky forced Samuel Sterns to turn him into a Gamma Mutate, becoming the Abomination. Although Ross argued that the experiments had been a total success, proving their efficacy, questions were raised about whether the Serum had caused mental illness or brain damage in Blonsky, leading to his recklessness, and the project was once again shut down.
The BTFEP's research would go on to form the basis for IGH's Project Homegrown.
