Sons of Koth

The Sons of Koth, or SOK, were one of the two factions who fought the Kree Civil War.

After the destruction of Supreme Intelligence LIX, many members of the Accuser Corps believed this should be taken as an opportunity to return to what they saw as 'traditional' Kree values, including aggressive expansionism, cultural 'purity', and the withdrawal of the Empire from the Pan-Worlds Treaties.

When Genis-Vell, a relative moderate, ascended to become the first Emperor of the Kree in millenia, many of the Accusers refused to swear vows of loyalty to the newly formed Kree Imperium. In response, Genis-Vell dissolved the Accuser and Persuer Corps.

The former Accusers formed an anti-Imperial rebellion, calling themselves the 'Sons of Koth' after the author of Hala's earliest law codes (the tablets of Koth). Due to the high number of Blue families in the Accusers, and the fact that Genis-Vell was a Pink, the Sons of Koth quickly gained popularity among believers in the Pink Replacement Conspiracy Theory. Their expansionist and militaristic views also attracted those who sought to reignite previous wars, including the Kree-Skrull War and the Kree-Nova War.

Although primarily motivated by racism and xenophobia, they did also have genuine grievances with the new regime, both political, particularly with the imposition of an unelected monarch on the Empire, and religious, as Genis-Vell sought to outlaw both the Cult of the Supreme Intelligence and the worship of the older Gods of Pama.

The faction does still exist, but after the death of Inndig-O and many other leaders of the Sons of Koth during the Phalanx Crisis, they are no longer considered a credible threat by any of their enemies.
