Phalanx Crisis
The Phalanx were techno-organic soldiers created by injecting living or recently dead Kree with the Transmode Virus. They were originally created as soldiers for the Kree Imperium during the Kree Civil War.
The creator of the Phalanx, Dr Eve, believed them to be essentially mindless, possessing no will of their own. However, the Phalanx were in fact a hive mind, who sought to convert all sentient life. After converting their creator, the Phalax began to attack to population of Hala.
In order to prevent the transmode virus leaving Hala and infecting other planets, Emperor Genis-Vell I chose to destroy Hala.
