Emperor Genis-Vell (a.k.a. Quasar)
Emperor Genis-Vell I was a Kree Super-Soldier, and the first Emperor of the Kree in more than XXX years.
He has been called the most influential figure in recent Kree history - he was jointly responsible (with Carol Danvers ) for the destruction of the last Supreme Intelligence. During the political unrest that followed, he declared himself Emperor, beginning the Kree Civil War, and he commissioned Dr Eve to create the Transmode Virus, directly leading to the Phalanx Crisis.
Recognising the danger of what he had created, Genis-Vell chose to remain behind when Hala was evacuated and use his metahuman abilities to destroy Hala, wiping out the Phalanx and preventing them from threatening other planets.

Special abilities
Prior to exposure to Carol Danvers's metahuman abilities, he possessed the traits common among Kree super-soldiers: Enhanced Strength, Speed, and a Regenerative Healing Factor.
After he was exposed to Danvers's powers, he gained Energy Manipulation abilities, including Self-Propelled Flight. As his other abilities are similar to those of Carol Danvers, it is likely his aging was also slowers or even halted, but due to the increased lifespan of Kree it was not possible to confirm this before his death.

His mother left Hala when he was a young man, leaving Genis-Vell to raise his younger sister Phyla-Vell alone. A few years later, his mother was declared an enemy of the Kree Empire for her commitment to helping Skrull refugees from the Kree-Skrull War.
Reign
Although he become the de-factor leader of the Kree within months of the destruction of Supreme Intelligence LIX, we was not crowned until December 2015.
