Well, I told everyone my story. They all were mighty nice about it. Said it wasn't my fault seeing how I was only a kid at the time of the dragon attack. They don't even want me to leave the group or nothin'. I appreciate their kindness and understanding, but I can't help but wonder if it's misplaced. I'm not a fool, I know a child never stood a chance at defeating a dragon... But my little brothers an' sisters all bein' dead... that's all on me. If I hadn't made them hide in that damn tree... If I'da kept 'em with me... Or if we had ran... Or hid underground... There are so many ways it coulda turned out different. One bad choice cost me everything.
On our journey to the headwaters, we got attacked by a mist of all things. One shot from Arc is all it took to take care of that.
A time later, we fell into a sinkhole. There we got attacked again. This time by a thing one of the others said goes by the Name Karen Crawler. Strange name for a monster. My Aubrey got the final attack on that thing. IN anouther room, we found some electrum and some mighty fine tinker's tools that got Arc all in a tizzy. In anouther room there was a huge golem. Without even thinking, I shot an arrow at the thing, which seemed to irk it cuz then it attacked us. Maybe I shoulda tried talking to it first. Guess we'll never know. It put up a real fight, but finally one of my arrows stopped it. When we inspected the golem, we found a ruby inside. Arc said it is what was powering it. There wasn't anything else in that pit, so Arc made a device that let us get out of that sinkhole.
At one point we saw a beautiful white stag. It knelt in front of Abby, and we all got warm and tingly. I'm not sure exactly what happened, but I'm pretty sure it was good.
For one reason or another, Bob started talking to me in my head. He told me his real name is actually Rerae. Good to know, 'cept he asked me I don't tell any of the others on account a he don't trust none of them.
I told him I think they're all good eggs and he should let them in. He said he'd ponder on it.
A little while later we reached a sign that read, "Qaeryn Creek." It marks the boundary of Stonebriarshire. Hey wait a minute... Qaeryn... ya know what? I bet that thing we fought is called a Qaeryn Crawler, not Karen Crawler!
