Let's Do the Time Loop Again

We saw the white stag again. It was followed by a green stag that then turned into Thistle! He didn't seem too surprised to see us again. He said since the stag led him here, he'll help us with what we're doing. We sneaked into Diloetis and hid in an abandoned building. Mavinda said he'd go scout things out and report back. Well it was taking forever and we started getting restless. Thistle turned into a green mouse and ran away. Barg said he was going to go get a drink. I went outside and found a crow to talk to. I was hoping it would know where this Element machine thing was. He didn't. Well FINALLY Mavinda came back and so did the others. Mavinda found out that machine was probably in the tower of a wizard named Hilartis. Only problem was, Hilartis was already dead on account of his tower collapsing on him. We went to his tower anyway hoping to find the machine. We found it along with a Sphere of Annihilation. Arc tried to dispel the sphere, and the sphere zapped him. Since that didn't work out for him, he looted Hilaris' corpse. He found some money and a ring of protection. Some of us thought destroying the machine would stop the elemental attacks, so we started attacking it. Thistle said that was taking too long so he pushed it out a window. All that accomplished was the machine was outside now. Arc did some spell on it and the machine melted before our eyes! The crystal powering it fell out, and the machine was officially broken. Hooray for no more elemental attacks! It didn't stop the time loop though, and time seemed to be moving faster! Before we left, we checked out some chests and found a wind fan, a tablet of reawakening, a helm of teleportation and a staff that Itophi wanted real bad. Well, none of us trusted THAT at all! I said in this group we discuss who gets items and what we do with them, and she reluctantly handed it over to Arc. While we took a little rest, I took that chance to send a message to Abby. He said to keep that staff away from Itophi at all costs and that we needed to find and destroy the source of the time loop. I pulled Arc aside. We're in agreement about Itophi and that staff. I also talked to him a bit about spirituality. HE said he's decided he's just a cog and will go with the flow, or something like that. I told him since Abby is away, if he ever wanted to talk about theology and stuff, I'd do my best to fill in. He called me the group chaplain. I think it was a compliment. Maybe it means I'm doing better at Abby's task then I thought. Once we were rested we used the helm of teleportation to go to the tent of the baddies. Once they were dead, Arc found an amulet that seemed to be controlling the time loop, so he smashed it real good. We found a figurine of Orcus, and destroyed that right away! We also found a Defender Longsword and plate armor that would make the wearer harder to hit. That fight caused a lot of noise and we didn't want to fight a whole army, so we teleported back to our castle instead.
