The Arrival (Part 4)

The fence before us is 15 -20 feet high and made of bamboo. Montgomery has led us to a gate in the fence.
Beyond the gate is a very large compound with multiple buildings. One large one towards the centre of the compound and a number of others or varying sizes including smaller huts.
 
We are led to a building that sems to be some sort of dormitory where we are told that we can rest here until later this evening.
As Montgomery leaves us, he locks the door behind him.
 
As we prepare for dinner, we discover that our jumpsuits seem to have an ability to look like other clothing, controlled by some sort of module inserted at the base of our necks.
 
After a few hours, Montgomery returns to invite us to dinner. We walk to a 2-story house nearby and are invited inside, where a number of "manimals" in servant's attire serve us canapes and drink in the library.
 
Rosemary inspects the contents of the library, noting a lot of scientific publications and journals, many of which are related to biology and vivisection. There are also quite a few books related to mechanical engineering and mathematics.
There seems to be very little to no references to electricity, but rather, steam powered vehicles.
Interestingly enough, after looking through some books related to weaponry, hand weapons seem to be typical for this time period, but tanks seem to be more advanced than they should be, perhaps even better than the technology from our 1950s!!
 
A little later, we are led to a dining room where we are introduced to an elderly gentleman Alphonse Moreau who asks us to refer to him as Doctor Moreau........
