The Arrival (Part 3)

As we approach a clearing where the strange men have taken Frank, we hear them chanting over and over something about rules. Always stand on two legs, don't eat meat, don't slurp water amogst others.
These men have Frank sitting on a chair as they stand chanting these things.
 
When we approach them, some run to the other side of the clearing while a few come carefully towards us.
 
On closer inspections, each clearly has some features reminiscent of the animal kingdom. One might have a large nose resembling an animal's snout, another may have paws instead of feat, while yet another may have a tail.
They identify themselves as all "men" and have no real concept of individual identity. They do not even understand the concept of a woman.
 
After some discussion with these "men" it started to become clear that they are malevolent but were in fact "rescuing" Frank from being lost.
It also became clear that they seem to be animals converted to a more human form somehow.
 
They offered to show us the way to their creator's house in the morning but said that they could not go back there as they had disappointed "the man" in some way.
We decided to stay overnight in the cave where they were living and head out in the morning.
 
We were woken early the next morning by a commotion near the front of the cave and went to investigate. A "normal" human man holding a gun and accompanied by a more advanced type of animal-man based on a monkey were aggressively asking the animal men about us.
As we go to find out what is happening, the man - Fernando???, starts quizzing us on what we are doing on the island.
 
A fabricated story by Sam, describing how out ship got into trouble and we had to abandon it, coming across the paddle wheeler by chance is treated with skepticism as apparently the ship was actually launced from this island and abandoned.
After several hous walking, we are brought by the man with the gun to a walled compound where "the man" apparently lives.....
