Crafter Guild Ward

The Crafter Guild Ward is in the south east end of Hollow's Point, with some great views of the mountains south of the city. Many Gnomes, Dwarves, and Humans make Crafter Ward their home. Workshops, smelters, forges, tanneries, and other various craft shops belch a variety of smells and smoke into the air.   Currently, Dorvis Ashplume, an Earth Dwarf who recently graduated from his apprenticeship in the Crafter Guild, is the Guild’s head. He is young and eager to prove himself. He is quite adept at both weapons and armour but his true love is carpentry. It is unusual for a Dwarf to take up multiple specialties, particularly carpentry, but Dorvis has done an excellent job at maintaining his skill in all three.   The Orehouse, a temple to Denethen, can be found in the Crafter Ward. It is headed up by Macedon Greatore, a Mountain Goliath of great skill in mining. He is the younger brother of Pallantar Greatore, the head of that merchant family and one of the richest people in Hollow’s Point. Macedon is very successful at bringing in new mining techniques, quality miners, and finding efficiencies in the process. He is a great asset to the Greatore family and their business.   There is a bowyer and fletcher shop called Eaglewood that is run by an Elf from Aspenshield named Kirrili Feathershaft. She has taken her skills from the forest folk and decided to make a living providing standard and masterwork bows and arrows of all kinds. She has made a great name for herself in Hollow’s Point and many of the mercenaries and nobles alike have commissioned her for her weapons. She makes a distinct point of not making any other kinds of weapons aside from longbows or shortbows, but she does make some special arrows that have brought her a lot of attention.   Many armourers, weaponsmiths, and blacksmiths take up residence in Crafter Corner, but the prize leatherworker is a Human named Liran Bursak. He used to be a great hunter before his family was killed by the Demon Wolf Tribe up north near Aspenshield Forest. He now stays in Hollow’s Point and hires out hunters to provide him with supplies of beasts he can turn into armour, gloves, boots, leggings, or anything else someone needs from him. Liran has not left Hollow’s Point in over five years.   Greatore Minerals and Metals is one of the cornerstones of the economy in Hollow’s Point. Headed up by Pallantar Greatore, a Goliath of great skill and cunning, this family-run business specializes in the mining, shipping, store, and selling or ore, metals, and precious gems. They own three large buildings in the Crafters’ Ward and are one of the richest families in the area. Macedon Greatore, Pallantar’s younger brother, heads up the church of Denethen in Hollow’s Point. The two work very closely and are constantly coming up with new processes, techniques, or inventions to improve all aspects of mining, storing, and selling metals and ore. Macedon’s son is being groomed to take over the business and Pallantar’s son is being groomed to take over the temple’s duties. They are hoping to maintain their family’s hold on Hollow’s Point economy and social hierarchy as long as possible.   The Salt Rock Taproom is a favourite watering hole for those crafters and smiths who just want to get a drink and forget about work for a while. It can be quite loud at times, and it is not snobby in any way. They welcome anyone who is willing to put up with the rowdy behaviour of their clients. Those looking for a quiet time will either go to the Misty Maiden in the Merchant ward or the Quill and the Quail in the Hospitality Ward. The tavern is run by a Stone Dwarf named Curgal Rocksplitter who has brought up a huge stone of salt from the mines near Stonebridge and he has it displayed in the centre of the tavern. Those who want to have any salt can go up and scrape some off for their meal. The Saltwatcher, Jenkins Furndom is very strict on how much salt one can take in one go and he makes sure to note what they are using it for. If he sees anyone hoarding salt to take away, he lets Curgal know right away. First time offenders are let off with a ‘stern’ warning. It is very rare for a second time offender to be caught. Salted rim ale is a specialty at the Salt Rock and one of the most popular drinks in the city.
