High Priest Eli

Eli was born into a sacred bloodline of Aasimar protected by an angel named Tadriel. Members of this bloodline are charged with protecting nature and presiding over the worship of the goddess Melora in Redwater. Eli now serves as the high priest of the Riverbed Chapel.

When Eli calls upon the angelic blood within him, he can sprout a pair of radiant angel wings from his shoulders.

Eli dresses for utility more than style, and is often seen in simple priest's robes augmented only by his holy symbol and prayer book, which he inherited from his mother, Elise, and the platinum angel-wing broach he received from Harmony.

Personal history

When Eli first met the Antiheroes in 7509, he was an apprentice under High Priest Phineas and training to lead the congregation in his deceased mother Elise's stead. At the time he lacked the confidence to fulfill the duties required of his bloodline, but the Antiheroes helped him to awaken his inner strength as they unraveled the mystery surrounding Elise's death, his sister Dalia's disappearance, and the identity of his father.
Later, when the Antiheroes returned to Redwater to confront a vampire threat in Ravenmoor, Eli accompanied them in their quest and helped in the battle against Al-Kin and Queen Ixlati.

History

Harmony first met Eli when she and the Antiheroes arrived in Redwater. They bonded especially when, toward the end of the battle under Melora's temple, Harmony fell off the edge of the shrine, Eli dove after her to save her, and together they plummeted into the underdark deep beneath Redwater.
Harmony helped Eli with his burgeoning magic, and Eli became a source of peace and comfort for Harmony. In the five years after Orochi's defeat in the Elderhaven Reaches, Harmony went to live with Eli in Redwater, until her mother Valiance's arrival forced her back into action.
They parted ways on the eve of the Antiheroes' journey to the Nine Hells, but not before Harmony shared her most closely-guarded secret with him: her true name. Eli sent her with a blue feather that gave her the ability to summon him for a short time when she needed him most. His aid was crucial to their victory against Malagard.
When Harmony returned, she retired permanently to Redwater to be with Eli. Though they were never officially married, they made their vows in private to share their lives together. If asked about their wedding, Harmony would leap to weave a new, fantastic falsehood about their extravagant ceremony. In 7,519 they have a daughter and name her after Eli's mother.

History

Thaddeus first met Eli when he arrived in Redwater with the Antiheroes. Because of Thaddeus's strong faith, Eli immediately latched on to him as a role model, even when the truth of Redwater's curse was revealed and Thaddeus was forced to kill both Eli's father, the angel Tadriel, and his sister Dalia.
Eli's trust in Thaddeus's abilities has only grown since the Antiheroes defeated Orochi and restored peace to the Kingdom of Freydin. Thaddeus, preoccupied with his own duties and concerns, doesn't spare as much thought for Eli as he might and simply believes that Redwater is in good hands.
