Red Room
Off branch of HYDRA that found its home in the KGB in Russia.
During The Russian Provisional Government a secret collection of Powerful scientists formed a covert agency which later would be part of the secret policed named Cheka and made official after the October rebellion. The formation gained the name Красная комната, the Red Room, after the initial conditioning room where the child was locked in a room bathed in blood red light when not undergoing interaction and training.
In WWII one of the early graduates, Karakurt (Ana Jarvis) entered service. She would go on to be the most successful operants. Eventually Howard Stark fell under scrutiny and multiple honey pots missions. All of which failed, mostly due to Howard being mostly focused on his inventions and ignoring the woman. Follwoing his wedding to Maria Stark in 1957, they tried again to no luck. After that they assigned Karakurt as a longterm sleeper agent. Follwoing the birth of Tony Stark, Karakurt abandoned the Red Room, with threats and evidence to force the group to permanently leave the Starks alone.
Legend of Karakurt is shared with the other graduates as the agent achieved an ultimate mission and set free from the formation with recall left open. The only surviving member of the group that knows teh truth was a comrade of Karakurt who became a Red Room trainer, Nycticbus(Slow Loris). Eventually, Tony and James Rogers track her down in a pseudonym in a nursing home from Karakurt's files.
During the Cold War, the KGB merged a group called the Red Room with current abilities to implant memories to raise and train young girls from infancy to fight as spies. Natasha Romanoff was one such person. In the late '80s, HYDRA lent Barnes to the Red Room to train the children. He was especially effective.
In the 1990's a few operative were sent by HYDRA to infiltrate and assist the IRA in creating chaos. In November 1993, two of them infiltrated the November Remember ball in order to carry out terrism. They were stopped by Bethany Cabe and James Rogers. One was identified as Bukarot went after Tony. She fought James and later escaped in the hospital. One inside the party was caught and escaped the jail cell. James identified her as Pitohui, newly graduated Red Room operative.
