After that the Mighty Menagerie told her to talk to Reggie, the party needs 1500 to make Magic Whip +1
Barlo is not proficient with Thieves' Tools, but with recent games he has lost the disadvantage roll with them. We took off another 30 hours.
Calliope Galanodel has the Heward's Handy Haversack.
Sas W.T. Rayce attuned to the Ruby Weave Gem, removed Amulet of Proof Against Detection and Location. She got the cantrip. She put Counterspell in the Ruby Weave Gem.
In the hideout of Jacoby Drexelhand. Earlier they had pulled out Likkec who came to life and pointed out how the The Joy of Extradimensional Spaces book was corrupted. He left in Transportation Mirrors with Blood Magic. They made a deal with him. When he finds out who stole the book and stuck him as a statue -- he had to tell the party.
They explored and found some Living Spell
"What the fuck is going on here?" Barlo Shadow in the Snow shoots an arrow straight into Bugbear's Chest "GET THEM!!"
Round one
Shadow in the Snow moves forward, casts Web on the floor (not realizing how much this would save them).
Casts Hunter's Mark... (later retconned and not done)
Shadow in the Snow "There is some weird shit going on here!"
Bastion Bladesinger hears the commotion, some light is coming into the hallway now.
Shoots Ray of Frost into the face of the Bugbear who yells at the goblins "stop them, the boss will be pissed if we don't finish"
Another Ray of Frost and flung a weapon at him (couldn't tell what).
(here is where we realized that Hunter's Mark could not be cast due to leveled spells.)
One of the goblins is free, he jumps onto the table and grabs something off the head and jumps down, runs to the door and unlocks it.
(reminder of stow/pulling a weapon, not two)
Arktos attacks the Goblin who runs past him. Rakes across the face.
Sas W.T. Rayce runs forward sees the webbing and her mushroom/spore covered Chill Touch Skeleton hand grabs the Goblin.
Barlo is immune to the Web due to the cowl. "Goblin what is going on here?" in Goblinish. "Master is not coming back."
The Goblin says the master will come back, he always does.
Barlo Rages and slashes at him, across the chest and kills him. He attacks at the corpse on the table -- some frankenstein monster.
Then... the bodies shift and a very large creature wakens... AT-ANHKOLOX
This huge creature sees Barlo and attacks. The first claw misses, the second hits, and the push fails. It goes for its entrapping rend, but misses as the barbed rib cage tries to grab him.
Calliope Galanodel heard Arktos and goes that way and sees the Goblin, she throws out a Vicious Mockery "Are you sure you want to continue fighting? It's kind of getting embarrasing now." It lands. She retreats
Shadow in the Snow realizes Arktos can't be commanded, so she runs into the room and sees the large beast. She attacks. An arrow sticks into some fatty tissue and drops. Another arrow pierces into a facial cheek, and a claw wipes the arrow off.
Bastion Bladesinger runs in. Scorching Ray.
Bastion Bladesinger shoots 4x Scorching rays all hit, since the Undead Beastie is stuck in the webs.
Sas W.T. Rayce moves forward and due to the webs she uses Chill Touch that squeezes out some pus and stuff from the creature.
Barlo disengages and moves away with this Animated Shield and Maul.
The creature breaks out of the Web and runs to Barlo but can't attack as it used its action to break free
Calliope Galanodel holds her Vicious Mockery.
(note on Scorching Ray and fires)... I did look it up again, still don't believe it would work.

Sas runs up and Shillelagh with her club.
CRIT Slams down on it
Barlo goes reckless and also crits -- how you wanna do this. She sees Sas run in and slam down him and so he hits at the same time.

The Battle:
Shadow casts Faerie Fire And now Books start coming off the shelves, and the bookshelves move forward coming out of the room. One lashes out with chains at Barlo, the first one hits (20 hp) and the chains try to grapple him. The second one grapples him. Barlo uses the Cowl of Warding to get out. He then grapples the bookshelf. drags it to the other room. Rage attacks with his claws. ... fight goes on, but the party wins even though Shadow did go down. (Recording stopped for some reason). Swarm of Animated Books attack. Bastion Bladesinger attacks with Magic Rapier +2 2x. Sas W.T. Rayce Higher level casts Cure Wounds on Barlo who was hurting very bad. Swarm of Animated Books attacks along with Animated Chained Library Barlo uses reaction to boost AC. Then Claw attacks. The Books and shelves attack. Bastion attacks with rapier and Green-Flame Blade Calliope breaks in her dagger. Sas casts Healing Word and then attacked with her club. Chained libraries attack. Barlo Crits with the maul. Chained Libraries attack Barlo has a Crusher thign... not sure if played here. Bastion attacks with rapier attacks Calliope rolled 5d8 for something... Maybe Shatter? Sas uses Chill Touch and then crits with her club maybe? Not sure why two actions... Barlo attacks 2x with Maul Chained library attacks and Barlo uses reaction and tail defense. Another 5d8 by Calliope. Chained Book attacks. Calliope 5d8. Barlo fails a death save☠️ ??
