Northrop Aero-Armor Corporation

Northrop Aero-Armor Corporation is the continuation of the Pre-War Northrop Corporation responsible for various planes used during the Second and Third World Wars. Originally designing Propeller planes and large scale bombers, the company would go on to define the flying wing type planes that would dominate airplanes for the 20th and 21st centuries. This includes the Northrop 797 Jetliner that was the primary conmmercial Jetliner, The Northrop Stingray, which would be the main jetplane of the Air Force, and even Air Force One from 2040 onwards, but most important of its creations were the Vertibirds, which would replace all gunships and helicopters by 2074.    When the Great War destroyed modern civilization, Northrop's Main family was secured in the Vaults by the Enclave, along with many other defense contractors. But when they opened, the Enclave was nowhere to be found, unknown to these contractors was that the Enclave had completely lost contact with the mainland due to the damage wreaked on its network by the bombs. Many of these families would be swallowed up by the wastes, but Northrop would manage to survive, and build a name for itself. It began building and trading armor, and by the 2200's had developed a headquarters in Shady Sands, the capital of the New California Republic. When the Enclave resurfaced in 2241, it found companies like Northrop, (Known commonly as Armcorp by then) were unwilling to work with them, indeed the members who had gone into the vaults were long dead, and those in charge now had no ties to the mysterious and clearly dangerous Enclave.    After the Enclave was defeated on the West Coast, about 20 vertibirds ended up in NCR possession. Northrop immediately attempted to get the rights to work on, and eventually, produce more, but the NCR-Brotherhood War put an immediate stop on that. With the war decimating the Republic's economic, industrial, and energy sectors, the NCR did not have the funds, or resources to produce more, but it did give Northrop permission to maintain them, with minimal financial return. What frustrated the company the most was how little there was to do. As the NCR could not afford to lose them, it did not use them, so the VTOLs sat in there hangars with no damage to repair, and no maintenance to perform. By the time of 2281, Northrop had not laid hands on the vehicles in over a decade. And with the only one lost lost due to radiation at the hands of Caesar's Legion in the Mojave Campaign, they could not even work on the only one that needed to be fixed. By this time it was also very clear that the NCR was spiraling, its economy and industry were failing to recover, only stabilize, and companies like Armcorp, Gun Runners and the Crimson Caravan Company, were losing caps faster than they could make them.    When the Second Battle for Hoover Dam was won by the Courier, and the Free Economic Zone of the Mojave founded, it was clear to most companies where the money was to be made. In 2285, the company was the first to move to New Vegas, unlike those that would follow though, Armcorp completely severed ties with the NCR, and closed their loactions inside its borders. Tragedy would strike the company and family enrout though, as its CEO would die due to heart complications on the way to the Mojave Wasteland, leaving 19 year-old Britannica Northrop to start the company's new chapter on her own.    She would escel in this role. Securing rights to multiple metal portions and even a portion of the FEZ's coveted Saturnite, the company would produce all of the infantry armor for the Mojave Military, earning millions. When the Military was ready to produce its own vertibirds, she secured exclusive rights to do so, once again making Northrop the world's leading aerial manufacturer. The company itself is worth an estimated 550 million caps, and it shows no signs of slowing.
