Tawnyard Forest

The Tawnyard Forest sprawls across the landscape of south-western Llywelyn, a dense and ancient woodland filled with towering oaks, dark pines, and thick underbrush. The forest is bordered by the Tallhyde Marsh to the north and the imposing Kilconna Rise mountains to the east, while the Daoine settlement of Cian lies just beyond the forest’s eastern edge. Tawnyard Forest is known for its untamed beauty, with moss-covered trees and deep shadows creating an atmosphere of primal mystery. However, the forest’s reputation is far from idyllic—it is infamous for being home to packs of feral lycanthropes who stalk the woods, making it a place of fear for locals and travelers alike.   Few dare to venture into the heart of the forest, as the lycanthropes that dwell within are particularly aggressive and territorial. The howls of these creatures echo through the trees at night, and their presence has given the forest an aura of dread that deters even the bravest hunters. The feral lycanthropes have made their dens in the deepest, most inaccessible parts of the woods, and those who wander too far from the safety of the borders risk being hunted by these savage predators. It is said that the forest itself seems to conspire against outsiders, with paths that twist and vanish, luring the unwary deeper into its dark heart.   Despite its dangers, Tawnyard Forest is a place of strange, wild magic. Local druids from Cian occasionally venture to the forest’s edge to commune with the spirits of the land, though they do so with great caution, knowing the risks involved. The forest is also home to rare herbs and mystical plants, which some brave herbalists seek out for their healing properties, though few return from such expeditions. Legends speak of ancient standing stones hidden deep within the woods, marking sites of fey significance or places where the boundary between the mortal world and The Feywild is thin. Tawnyard Forest remains a place of beauty and peril, where nature’s wildest forces—both mundane and magical—hold sway.
