Dwarves
Basic Information
Anatomy
Dwarves are bipedal species that have four limbs, two legs and two arms, five digits on each hand and feet and have hairless bodies. They have hair on their heads and males are able to grow facial hair.
Biological Traits
Male Dwarves are generally larger than females and are able to grow facial hair. Female Dwarves are able to produce milk from their breasts and are the ones that give birth. Dwarves are smaller compared to other races such as Humans.

Dwarves reproduce sexually and are viviparous, they typically have a gestation period of 9 months.
Growth Rate & Stages
Dwarves are a long-lived race and reach physical maturity somewhat later than humans. A Dwarf is traditionally considered an adult once he or she reached age fifty. Dwarves age much like humans but over a longer period of time, remaining vigorous well past 150 years. Most Dwarves lived to see their bicentennial, and a few live to be over 400.

Dwarves are able to live in a variety of environments due to their level of technology, they will alter the environment to make it hospitable for them to live. Dwarves are generally found underground and in mountainous climates.

Dwarves are omnivores they procure their food by domesticating animals and farming crops; they can also hunt and gather for food as well.
Biological Cycle
As time progresses Dwarves age, eventually their bodies will reach a point where they can no longer sustain themselves and will eventually die. However, they live much longer lives than some other races such as Humans.
Behaviour
Dwarves are a cooperative species and will form communities to help each other, Dwarves are a very stubborn race and are known to hold grudges against both other Dwarves and other races despite this they are still able to have good relations between other races. Disputes between Dwarves are generally resolved without the use of violence.

Social Structure
Dwarven society is separated into clans built along family ties and political allegiances, these clans are usually led by hereditary rulers, often monarchs of a sort and descended from the founder of the clan. Dwarves strongly value loyalty to these rulers and to the clan as a whole, most clans focused on one or two kinds of crafting, such as blacksmithing, jewellery, engineering, or masonry.

Naming Traditions
Dwarven names follow the conventions of having a first name and last or family name, their last names tend to relate to a profession, object or the environment, such as an animal or a weather type.

Dwarven beauty ideals are the physical features an individual has and personality of the individual.
Gender Ideals
Male Dwarves are expected to do physical labour such as construction, engineering or becoming soldiers, while female Dwarves are expected to raise children and work domestic jobs such as waitresses or shop keeps.

Male Dwarves attract females by presenting them with gifts and/or showing off their achievements.
Relationship Ideals
Dwarves are monogamous and they highly value the ties between family members, t is expected for males to work and for females to raise the children and do the housework. Older siblings are expected to help their mothers with raising the younger siblings as well as help the mother at her workplace.

Dwarves particularly respect elders, from whom they expected sound leadership and the wisdom of experience, as well as ancestral heroes or clan founders. Dwarves generally treat other with respect and kindness treating them as friends.

Dwarves generally wear practical clothes that come in plain colours, Dwarf attire generally revolves around their occupation for example dwarves who are blacksmiths will wear aprons and cloves while warriors will be wearing armour plates, if not a full suit of armour.
Culture and Cultural Heritage
Dwarven culture is based on their ancestors and crafting, they value their traditions and look for inspiration from ancestral heroes. For Dwarves, loyalty was more than a word and they felt that it should be both valued and rewarded. Dwarves are also known for harbouring grudges far longer than many other races, this might be on an individual basis between a Dwarf and one who had wronged them, or against entire races, even if warfare with the enemy had long since ceased. Dwarves are master craftsmen and will spend years to hone their skills and developed new techniques, due to this people from other races look to use their services.

Dwarves hold a festival during the winter season, during this festival Dwarves are known to consume large quantities of alcohol and food. This festival is held to celebrate the God of Winter and father of the Dwarf race Boreas Frostheart.

Common taboos in Dwarven society include murder, theft, assault, sexual assault, cannibalism and Others. It is also taboo for male Dwarves to shave as a beard is seen as a symbol of strength and courage.

Dwarves generally get along with other races, however, they have a rivalry with Light Elves who they see as both arrogant and obnoxious.
