Human
Humans are people belong to the mammalian family of vertebrates on Ashar, which are the minority among warm-blooded creatures in Torvalen, outnumbered by the dominant keratoplexan and ornithischian life forms. However mammals were dominant land creatures in Utanar, and keratoplexan and ornithischian animals were unknown. Due to this, scholars have proposed that all the human peoples of Torvalen actually originated in Utanar, coming into Torvalen at various different times and circumstances. Ancient legends collected from the Calmaxtec and Jolnir seem to support this hypothesis when interpreted in this light.
There are four known human ethnicities in Torvalen, the Calmaxtec, Eshtem, Jolnir and Ranjari. The Calmaxtec and Jolnir have lived in their respective parts of Torvalen for longer than written history. The Eshtem and Ranjari are relative newcomers, having arrived during the Great Exodus only a few centuries earlier.
All human people are able to produce children together, belonging to the same species, though the size difference between many of the Jolnir, particularly the Vandir tribes, and other humans make mixed births with Jolnir fathers often difficult.
