Elves are a magical people of otherworldly grace, living in the world but not entirely part of it. They live in places of ethereal beauty, in the midst of ancient forests or in silvery spires glittering with faerie light, where soft music drifts through the air and gentle fragrances waft on the breeze. Elves love nature and magic, art and artistry, music and poetry, and the good things of the world.
With their unearthly grace and fine features, elves appear hauntingly beautiful to humans and members of many other races. They are slightly shorter than humans on average, ranging from well under 5 feet tall to just over 6 feet. They are more slender than humans, weighing only 100 to 145 pounds. Males and females are about the same height, and males are only marginally heavier than females.
Elves' coloration encompasses the normal human range and also includes skin in shades of copper, bronze, and almost bluish-white, hair of green or blue, and eyes like pools of liquid gold or silver. Elves have no facial and little body hair. They favor elegant clothing in bright colors, and they enjoy simple yet lovely jewelry.
On Tethys
Created by the
Titan The Elder, the elves were made to be his children during the
First Age, The Titan War. The conflict made him wish for peace but he knew none would come but once the
Wise One, one of theĀ
First Gods, came to him asking to at least be neutral in the war, he obliged. The elves were visited by the Wise One frequently, even more so than the
Divine King with the first humans, and over time, they started to worship him, secretly of course. When the war ended, their creator vanished and with him, the race splintered into three parts. The Dark Elves, Copper Elves, Silver Elves, and Gold Elves as these, legends have it, were the basic components that the Elder used in the creation of his children. Over the millennia, many more subraces of the Elves came to existence like the
Fey Elves,
Shadow Elves or the
Snow Elves. Some theorists speculate that the
Archfey Star Night had a hand in the splintering as he was madly in love in the Wise One and decided to break up his "toys."
First World Theory
The elves of the
First World came to their wold by a ship that sailed through the stars. It crashed on their world and being unable to repair it, the elves decided to stay. Over time, they transformed into the known Moon, Sun and Wood subraces.
