Shepherd

This island community is well-known on the mainland for their traditional cloth. It is a woollen broadcloth, akin to tweed, and it has been crafted in the same exact way for centuries. Your trade is shepherding. Shepherds are perceived to be most strongly connected to the land, and to the animals. The shepherds handle hunting and butchery, and are also the vets in the community, taking care of the animals. They have great knowledge of the weather and the changing seasons, and work closely with the dyers to ensure that the harvesting of plants for dyeing is sustainable. Shepherds are highly respected, usually seen as the providers and defenders of the community. They also tend to be the strongest warriors.
