Poison Dragon

Poison dragons are a species of dragon, and one of the seventeen main dragon types.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Poison dragons have the same basic anatomy as any dragon. Poison dragons' scales are snake-like; they fit and lock together, creating a smooth, slick surface. Their horns are flat above their head and curve down their neck slightly. Poison dragons have needle-like spines that run from their neck to their tail, as well as claws. Their tail ends in a barbed point. Their claws, spines, and the tips of their horns glow green or purple, as well as the insides of their mouth, such as their tongue, throat, and gums.   Poison dragons' claws, fangs, spines, and tail barbs are all venomous.

Genetics and Reproduction

Dragons reproduce sexually, and give birth via eggs. However, dragon eggs are extremely durable, to the point of being invincible.

Growth Rate & Stages

Dragons mature very quickly at the start of their life, both physically and mentally. As time passes, this growth slows to a normal rate, and stays that way for the rest of their lives. During the first six years or so, dragons will grow at an incredible rate.

Ecology and Habitats

Poison dragons like to live in areas that are dark, with medium to high temperatures. Both swamps and jungles are good locations. Etrix is a notable habitat.

Behaviour

Poison dragons are flirtatious and seductive, and at the same time, have an air of danger to them. They like teasing other races and dragon species. Other dragons have a hard time trusting a poison dragon due to this nature, but poison dragons have no problem invading their personal space. However, when questioned and pressured on their motives for doing so, it has been discovered that for all their flirting, they aren't committed to it. In almost the complete opposite, poison dragons believe in true love and soulmates, and really, they're just testing people to see if they've met their match. They get along well with sand and fire dragons.

Additional Information

Uses, Products & Exploitation

Poison dragon scales, when set into a weapon, coat the weapon in a never-ending supply of corrosive acid. When set into armor, it makes the wearer immune to poison of any kind. Additionally, poison dragons' acid breath is considered a valuable material for creating strong poisons, and a black market has sprung up for it.
