Fire Dragon

Fire dragons are a species of dragon, and one of the seventeen main dragon types.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Fire dragons have the same basic anatomy as any dragon. One identifying feature is short, curved spines from their neck to their tail. As for horns, female fire dragons have straight horns, that lie back flat against their head. Male fire dragons' horns can be any shape: twisted, wavy, or curly.

Genetics and Reproduction

Dragons reproduce sexually, and give birth via eggs. However, dragon eggs are extremely durable, to the point of being invincible.

Growth Rate & Stages

Dragons mature very quickly at the start of their life, both physically and mentally. As time passes, this growth slows to a normal rate, and stays that way for the rest of their lives. During the first six years or so, dragons will grow at an incredible rate.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Fire dragons' primary source of food is fire itself. If they want a change of pace they may eat actual meat. It should be noted that fire dragons refuse to consume their own fire as food; they consider it cannibalism.

Biological Cycle

Rainy seasons, as well as significant rain in general, causes fire dragons to feel sluggish, melancholy, and drowsy, and for most of the day, they tend to stay in their dens.

Behaviour

Fire dragons have great pride in themselves, and often boast to others about feats they've performed or their own strength/intensity of their flames. Fire dragons are somewhat easy-going, and enjoy having fun and making friends, no matter who those friends may be. Surprisingly, fire dragons and water dragons get along well, either becoming best friends or love interests, despite their elemental opposition.
