Hala
Hala was a planet in the Pama System in the Large Magellanic Cloud. It was the homeworld of the Kree and Cotati, and the central planet of the Kree Empire.
In ancient times, Hala was visited by the Skrulls, who were looking for trade partners. A contest between the Kree and Cotati to decide who was worthy of the Skrullian Faster than Light Travel technology which the Kree lost. They responded by stealing the Skrull's technology and attempting to wipe out the Cotati, events which would lead to the outbreak of the first Kree-Skrull War.
The Kree spread from Hala, conquering other planets to create the Kree Empire. The capital city-state of the planet was Kree-Lar, one of many city-states which encompassed most of the world's surface. The planet was home to the Supreme Intelligence.
During the Phalanx Crisis, Emperor Genis-Vell chose to destroy much of the planet in order to prevent the Transmode Virus from infecting the rest of the galaxy. Since then, the ruins of the planet have been uninhabited, except for the Plex Intelligence, who was installed in the ruins of the Database by Noh-Varr while he was working with the Royal Inhuman Expidition.
Geography
Hala was originally a forest world, with 80% of the land being covered in dense primeval forest. Increasing urbanisation, combined with the hostility between the Kree and the Cotati, lead to the Kree cutting down all but about 5% of this forest.
As a result of this mass deforestation, erosion was a major problem in many city-states, especially those located close to major rivers.
The planet had only one sea, Gardar, the majority of water on the planet being in freshwater lakes and rivers. Over time, the Kree diverted the course of many of the rivers, deepend streams and brooks to allow them to use used for transportation, and constructed a complex network of canals.
There were no naturally occuring deserts on the planet, but desertification was a problem in areas where the natural water courses and forests had been diverted or removed.
The climate was temperate, with tropical regions at the equator. The precipitation was very high in most regions, with 80% minimum humidity.
Ecosystem
The planet's atmosphere was comparable to that of Earth, but with a higher nitrogen content.
