Sorceror Supreme <WIP>
The leader of the Masters of the Mystic Arts, the Sorceror Supreme has utlimate authority over their actions, and is also considered responsible for protecting Terra from any or all mystic threats.
A Sorceror Supreme holds their possition by the consensus of other Magic Users. They can draw on the magic of those who accept them as Sorceror Supreme, enhancing their own powers. If they misuse their power, or fail in their duty to protect the Earth, causing their supporters to lose faith in them, their power will begin to weaken. A weakened Sorceror Supreme can be challenged for the right to bear the title, and may forfeit it if they loose the battle.
The possition pre-dates the creation of the Masters of the Mystic Arts, but since they are the largest magical organisation on earth, the possition has become tied to them, and the Sorceror Supreme is also leader of the Masters.
Qualifications
Mastery of at least one school of magic.
Appointment
A Sorceror Supreme is selected by the majority consensus of all magic users. There is no formal selection process, although it is common for them to be either nominated by their successor, or selected by the officers of the Masters of the Mystic Arts. However it is also possible to attain the rank by challenging the current Sorceror Supreme to a duel.
Attaining consensus grants them the ability to tap into the magical resources of other magic users, or in desperate times, of the Earth itself. This ability is used as evidence that a magic user has been chosen to lead. In the event of their loosing this ability, they would be removed from office, having lost the confidence of the community they are supposed to lead.
Responsibilities
Traditionally the Sorceror Supreme was a Stonekeeper, as they guarded the Eye of Agamatto. However since the defeat of Thanos, this is no longer the case.
The Sanctum Masters and other senior members of the Masters of the Mystic Arts are given a high degree of independence, however the Sorceror Surpreme has ultimate responsibility for the organisation, including what artefacts to acquire and how to protect those artefacts deemed dangerous, when to intervene in the wider world, the appointment of possitions within the Masters, and supervising the training of novices.
Grounds for Removal/Dismissal
There are two routes by which a Sorceror Supreme may be removed from office. The first is that they may loose the consensus by which they were selected, due to mismanagment, inaction, or moral failings.
Loosing such a challenge does not automatically equate to loss of the title, if the challenger was considered to have cheated, or has a particularly bad reputation among magic users, but it is rare for any Sorceror Supreme to hold the title long after losing a challenge.
However removal of a Sorceror Supreme is rare, and the majority of holders die in office.
The second is that any magic user has the right to challenge the incumbent Sorceror Supreme to a contest for the title. These contests are usually magical in nature, however Salome of Akkad won the title after challenging the previous Sorceror Supreme to a board game.

Notable Holders
The first Sorceror Supreme was Agamoto, creator of the Eye of Agamatto
Before Agamotto, a less formalised version of the possition is believed to have existed, as Wiccan referred to Ire of the Crua before the Ice as a Sorceror Supreme, despite her having lived at least a thousand years before Agamotto.
It is believed that Billy Maximoff will become Sorceror Supreme in the future.
