Granolas II
Planet located in the Granolas System, in the Unreachable Star Cluster of the Arcturus galaxy.
Granolas II is a large, hot gas giant. It has a large number of gas collection stations in orbit around it, allowing any faction that controls the system to supply the system with enough hydrogen for fusion and transport. It actually has a lower value than most other worlds in the system despite its higher mass. This is because in most cases hydrogen can be bought in from other systems, the Unreachable Cluster is not lacking in gas giants. However, it still has a lot of defence platforms and orbiting shipyards regardless. The shipyards mostly serve the purpose of repair and refueling, and are also used to refuel civilian ships in addition to military ships. Neither the Anagon Technocracy nor Hyperion Federation can use this fuel due to their unique powerplants, but the HF uses the hydrogen in Transmutation Reactors to create usable matter plasma.
Against some Alti Dominion invasions, a strategy the HF often uses involves flying several Atmospheric Frigates into the atmosphere of the gas giant where the inferior sensors of the Alti cannot detect them. The frigates then fire on Alti forces as they come close and are nearly impossible to remove.
Granolas II has several features, such as abnormally powerful storms even for a gas giant. This is probably due to the distance from the star, causing the high surface temperature on the planet. This has made it somewhat difficult for most factions to harvest the gas giant, but with much work they eentually managed to accomplish it.
