Jon Fenward is the Briar of Marlowe in the Barony of Dunrick. He is a seasoned fighter and a veteran adventurer, earning a Strongholds Grant of land and title for his efforts to keep the Barony safe from western Orc attacks.

Personal history
Jon Fenward was born Jonnis Walder in the city of Stonehold. He joined the forces of the High King that invaded Colo during the Second Northern War at the age of 20. While he was fighting, his father was involved in a riot against tax collectors and levymen sent by the High King Max II and the Duke of Hekmo Turl am Nari. The rioters, 22 men including his father, were all arrested, tried and hung in a very public execution and their bodies were left on the gibbet to rot as a warning to other would-be rioters. His mother was thrown out of their home, and she died during the winter of 215 near Dunrick trying to walk to the City of Wessridge.
When word had reached the Imessian army of what had happened to Jonnis' father, he was dismissed from his duties as "unfit" and sent back to Stonehold. It was in Stonehold that he discovered what had become of his mother, so he went to Dunrick to try and recover her remains for burial. Bringing her back to Stonehold, and burying her next to his dead and disgraced father, he left Stonehold vowing never to return.
He spent the next ten years adventuring in the west hunting Smilodon, Dire Wolves and Cave Lions for bounties. Then, after fighting off a band of 60 Orcs that were marauding near the Imessian border, he was given a Grant of land and the rights to a stronghold in the fenlands of Marlowe. He assumed the name Jon Fenward, built his stronghold and established a prosperous village community and became the Briar of Marlowe on the previous Briar's death.

Jon is still quite bitter about what happened to his parents at the hands of the old High King and the Duke of Hekmo. He has a real respect for the Baron of Dunrick, and an admiration for what the Baron is trying to accomplish.
Wealth & Financial state
While very successful by any measure, Jon is not very wealthy. He makes much more in cash income from his eel farms than he does as Briar of Marlowe.
