Leland am Ahmi is the Duke of Ben Doa. He is 32 years old and is married to Grace Frigani. He is an accomplished swordsman and is rather famous for his skill with a great sword.

Leland wields his father's great sword, which was returned to the family after he fell in battle during the Colian War in 213 AF. The sword is quite distinct as it is nearly as long as a man is tall, weighs fully three times what a normal long sword would weigh, and is made of the finest materials known to man.

Motivation
Leland is fully aware of the manner in which his father, Duke Lennis am Ahmi died in the Imesse - Colo War. He blames the needless death of both his father and the thousands that died with him squarely on the Nari Family of the Duchy of Hekmo. Because of this, Leland has moved his primary allegiance away from Northridge and onto the Kingdom of Lesser Imesse.
Personality Quirks
Leland is an accomplished swordsman, and his preferred weapon is his father's great sword. It is nearly as long as he is tall, weighs significantly more than the average sword and has forced him to develop great upper body strength to effectively utilize the blade. Leland's nickname of "Bullroarer" was given to him because he has the habit of sounding a deep, bellowing roar as he swings the heavy great sword in combat.

Besides his contentious relations with his mother's family, the Noble House of Nari, Leland also has an ongoing dispute with the House of Isenbar because his sister, Lilyth Ahmi has fallen desperately in love with Edris Isenbar. Since Edris' father Harris Isenbar has cast many disparaging remarks about Leland and Lilyth's father, Lennis am Ahmi and his conduct during the Battle of Nyallshold, Leland has refused to consider any sort of arrangement with Edris and his sister, much to his sister's sorrow.
Family Ties
Leland is the first cousin of the Duke of Len Doa, Landan am Ahmi. As his father was both the brother of the Duke of Len Doa and the Duke of Ben Doa himself, the two duchies are now ruled by the same branch of the ancient Ahmi noble family. Leland is also the nephew of Turl am Nari as his mother was Turl's sister. This close family relationship with The Noble House of Nari does not soften his view on the family's crimes against his father.
