Woodhearth Hall is an unusual locale – a
Kalrentai town in southeastern
Tavanion. It was founded long ago by Kalrentai refugees fleeing from
Goblinoid conquerors from
Gristamere. When the
Eladrin came and pushed the goblins back northeast, out of the lands the Eladrin claimed, the Kalrentai forefathers of Woodhearth Hall fled into their borders and begged sanctuary. The Eladrin allowed the
Humans to stay, as long as they swore fealty to the
Esavol of Tavanion.
Woodhearth Hall is comprised of a population of Kalrentai,
Half-Elves,
Elves, a small number of Eladrin and
Gnomes, and a handful of
Halflings who fled west from
Dalenshire after the occupation of the
Orcish Hordes in search of something more permanent. It benefits from the skills of these varied peoples and has become a prosperous trading hub, growing far beyond the simple manor hall it started as. In deference to their history, however, they’ve kept the name.
When the Eladrin returned to the
Feywild following the attack on
Gwyllan's Watch by the
Tarrasque, the folk of Woodhearth Hall tentatively declared themselves an independent city-state. It remains to be seen how well they will prosper going forward.
