Huan-Kai
As the primary protagonist of Legacies, 26,462 words and Dead Water, 11,373 words, this contains major spoilers for these stories.
Huan-kai was an oddity in many ways, a Chameleon Skink priest and a non-Slann Shadow wizard.
After a very complicated series of events, Huan-kai was deemed a traitor by both his fellow Lizardmen and the Chaos warriors he sought succor with and was killed.
The he was ressurected by Lord Renliss and became the first Lizardmen vampire.
Human vampires can drink almost any blood but prefer human blood and can barely stomach reptilian blood. Huan-kai finds he has a physiological preference for drinking the blood of his own kind, an urge he usually resists.

Personal history
Huan-kai came from a rare, perhaps unique spawning.
Since he was a solo spawning in Klodorex with the marks of the Lost One similar to Kaitar the Saurus hero and Zat-Kai. Though he was ultimately destined to be a Chameleon Skink Priest, Chameleon Skink Priests were unheard of so all assumed that Huan-kai was destined to be a Chameleon Skink Chief.
Normally, Skink Chiefs from solo spawning are significantly stronger, smarter, and more agile than ordinary Skinks, but Huan-kai was something of a disappointment.
Despite training very hard, as a marksmen, athlete, and hunter Huan-kai was barely above average for a Chameleon Skink, well short of expectations of a Skink Chief.
During a routine outing with some Chameleon Skinks, the party found themselves targeted by a Troglodon, a powerful dinosaur whose blindness and hyper sense of hearing and smell made the Chameleon's Skinks natural stealth ability useless.
The life threatening peril awakened the latent magical power in Huan-kai. Unlike most Skink mages, his power manifested via the Winds of Shadow rather than Heavens or Beasts. He magically slew the Troglodon by throwing it into a shadowy portal. Given that Troglodons are viewed with nigh unto holy reverence, this was viewed in a poor light by Huan-kai's companions, despite saving their lives.
Like most budding Skink wizards, Huan-kai was trained as Skink Priest, though given his Shadow magic, an unorthodox training had to be created just for him.
Huan-kai was slow to learn battle worthy spells but he picked up a number of cantrips including the telepathic ability to read surface thoughts. This ability was so powerful, Huan-kai more often than not received this telepathic noise when he didn't want it.
Eventually he was assigned to an army commanded by Slann Lord Desserex that was battling dark elves. During this time, Desserex channeled magic through Huan-kai several time, the last time miscast which was extremely traumatic.
After learning that his brain damaged simpleton peer Nka-Lot was damaged by multiple miscasts, Huan-kai left Klodorex in a fit of anger and somehow ended up offering his services to Adrienne the Chaos Sorceress as a mercenary.
Ultimately, he used Shadow Magic Smoke and Mirrors to pull himself out of danger and set up Adrienne's death. He is still not sure if he set her up accidentally or deliberately. He didn't have much time to ponder this because he was slain by Adrienne's men shortly thereafter.
Much to his surprise, he woke up ressurected as an undead by Lord Renliss. It is unclear whether he is a vampire or something else, but now he is a reluctant and somewhat loyal lieutenant of Renliss.
Education
Huan-kai drilled in stealth, swordsmanship, wilderness survival, and marksmanship with blow pipes and thrown javelins in Klodorex.
He had some limited instruction in magic by the Skink priests in Klodorex but given that Huan-kai was the only Shadow wizard, he had to mostly learn things on his own.
Later as an undead creature, he received additional magical instruction from Lord Renliss
Intellectual Characteristics
Huan-kai had a habit of asking lots of cutting questions which made him an awkward fit into the hidebound traditionalist society of the First Children of the Old Ones.
This may or may not have lead to his defection.
His tendency to question authority continued among his new affiliates and continues to be a source of hardship for him.
