Lord's Alliance

Human Faction

DnD.Wizards
The Lords’ Alliance is a coalition of rulers from cities and towns (primarily in the West and East Civ IV), who collectively agree that some solidarity is needed to keep evil at bay. The rulers of Gloomacre, Nilanalume, Bherdoral and other free cities in The Gentle Vales dominate the Alliance, and every lord in the Alliance works for the fate and fortune of his or her own settlement above all others. The agents of the Alliance include sophisticated bards, zealous paladins, talented mages, and grizzled warriors. They are chosen primarily for their loyalty, and are trained in observation, stealth, innuendo, and combat. Backed by the wealthy and the privileged, they carry quality equipment (often disguised to appear common), and spellcasters tend to have a large number of scrolls with communication spells. To seek out and destroy threats to their homelands, agents of the Lords’ Alliance must be highly trained at what they do. Few can compare to their skills in the field. They fight for the glory and the security of their people and for the lords who rule over them, and they do so with pride. However, the Lords’ Alliance can only survive if its members “play nice” with one another, which requires a certain measure of diplomacy. Rogue agents within the Lords’ Alliance are rare, but defections have been known to occur.   Beliefs: 1. If civilization is to survive, all must unite against the dark forces that threaten it. 2. Glory comes from protecting one’s home and honoring its leaders. 3. The best defense is a strong offense.   Goals: To ensure the safety and prosperity of the cities and other settlements of the Realm by forming a strong coalition against the forces that threaten all, eliminate such threats by any means necessary whenever and wherever they arise, and be champions of the people.

Allied Factions

These two factions are one and the same expect for their religious beliefs. The OG focus more on their divine intervention and ability to destroy and quell the evil and undead whereas the LA focus more on man made chaos and the threats that present themselves "at the front gate" so to say. Both factions tend to seek each other out when they are in need of assistance.

Allied Factions

The Silver Queen being a member of the LA means that when the LA assemble, she may indeed assemble with them, depending. The ST being part of the Nilanalume Synod, the Elven Theocracy, are allied factions with LA due to their direct servitude to the Silver Queen.

Allied Factions

If ever there is a personal task that needs the attention of the King when he is otherwise preoccupied, the Lord's Alliance can stand in with members of the Battalion. These two faction are very closely related and you will find that the Battalion will also respond to the wishes of the Lords and Ladys, should they be put under their direct command.

Friendly Factions

The Royal Guard are expected to treat the Lord's Alliance as if they were their own set of royalty, by order of the Nobles. The LA is mostly members of Nobleblood who have a lot of influence within the political and inner circles of the Castle, meaning if they are treated badly, they can have members of the guard relieved of their position. This is countered by occasionally hiring and 'promoting' a Guard who shows significance within the ranks to join the LA as a 'Cloak' - the lowest grade of Alliance member however is seen to be above the Guard. Due to this, they are friendly faction.

Neutral Friends

Due to the Lord's Alliance liking the 'fame' of being the faction that saves towns, cities, royalty and the general populous from danger the diplomacy between these two factions isn't the greatest but also isn't the worst. The Harpers believing that each individual should have the ability to access the knowledge of how to defend oneself whereas the Alliance believing that they should be the ones to handle all situations thrown at them, tends to lead to some disputes between the more hotheaded members however these factions are friendly enough to one another.

Hiring Factions

The Bracket, being of significance and import to the Lord's Alliance due to their arcane ability, meant that they often found themselves being sought after for certain contracts. This means the two factions are on good enough terms however the Bracket is dissuaded at times by the Alliance's need to claim it was themselves who completed the contracts, even though they are fully compensated for their hard work in gold.

Neutral

These two factions stumble across each others paths now and again and due to similar goals they are on neutral to moderate terms with each other.

Neutral Factions

The Lord's Alliance is an incredibly jealous faction when it doesn't achieve the 'fame' it thinks it deserves for certain deeds done and whilst they look up to the Platinum Templars, they don't understand how one member can be so revered and have people near enough worship the ground they walk on. This causes interesting interactions with the PT usually outsmarting the LA in conversation.

Unfriendly Factions

The Lord's Alliance, being of higher tier within society, do indeed look down upon the Union and will usually not deal with them if they can avoid it. The Lord's and Royals know that when you have a large group of people unionized together, they can cause issues for the bourgeoisie - especially if that group supply you with your weapons and armor. The Union dislike the Lord's Alliance as they fail to appreciate the effort they put in to creating their items. This being said, the Union has a contract with the LA and they pay well for their weaponry.

Brawling Factions

Despite the Alliance being in it for the 'fame' and good deeds, the Guild doesn't agree with their methods. Any wealth that the LA can acquire by doing the lawful thing, they will whereas the Guild will always share the wealth they collect with other members equally. The Guild have stolen items and artifacts from the LA previous due to their Faction becoming too wealthy during the years of the Lycanthropes. The Guild keeps the Alliance in check and from becoming too big for their boots.

Aggressive Factions

The Lord's Alliance are seen by the Zhentarim as a faction that is trying to undermine their own doings. Which is why only one of these factions if at all can be found in a location at any one time. The Lord's Alliance want the 'fame' whereas the Zhentarim want the 'infamous' side of fame.

Aggressive Factions

The Lord's Alliance is a faction known for its want of power, meaning the Graycrawlers are the ones to help keep them in check alongside the Thieves Guild. The LA want to be able to be the sole contracted  protectors of civilization and be paid handsomely for it as well as soak up the 'fame' that comes with it. The Graycrawlers disagree with this want and need and so the LA are a consistent target for them. If two members were to meet, the LA member would be the one to throw the first punch however both factions are smart enough to mostly just use their words.
