Royal Guard

Human Faction

The Royal Guard are an organization on the King's payroll to dutifully protect him and his land at all costs. They are a recognized faction of law enforcers who can be prickly and antagonistic, untrusting and relatively easy to bribe (should the occasion arise). They protect the towns and cities of the Eastern & Western Civ IV and occasionally exchange some forces with allied towns and cities in the DoL and Girnthiod.   Beliefs: 1. The King has the right to rule by bloodline. 2. Protect the noble circle and their land.  3. The law must be upheld.   Goals: To keep the peace between races within the East and West Civ and uphold the laws set in place by those above.

Allied Factions

Some members of the Battalion are stationed with the Guard throughout the city on a day to day basis, allowing them to keep in communication with each other incredibly easily. If you are a member of the Guard and a Battalion member is in your presence, they are the ones in charge. The Guard look up to the Battalion and majority of the Guard members wish to become a member of the Battalion.

Friendly Factions

The Royal Guard are expected to treat the Lord's Alliance as if they were their own set of royalty, by order of the Nobles. The LA is mostly members of Nobleblood who have a lot of influence within the political and inner circles of the Castle, meaning if they are treated badly, they can have members of the guard relieved of their position. This is countered by occasionally hiring and 'promoting' a Guard who shows significance within the ranks to join the LA as a 'Cloak' - the lowest grade of Alliance member however is seen to be above the Guard. Due to this, they are friendly faction.

Friendly Factions

The Order, being of divine power with their higher individuals, are looked up to by the Royal Guard. They are seen as Holy Warriors who fight for a purpose rather than just for money. The OG sometimes ask for members of the Guard to accompany them if they are in need of help with local quests around the cities and towns however mostly just keep to themselves. The Guard are respected by the Order and they stay polite and humble to them.

Friendly Factions

The Guard and the Harpers are nearly comrades when it comes to members. Harpers being based within cities and towns across the realm means their archives are in constant need of protecting and the Royal Guard offers that. The Guard also have access to the archives should they wish to expand their knowledge, just like every other civilian.

Neutral

Whilst hardly ever encountering one another due to the ST being on the frontline of battle as well as remaining in the DoL to help safeguard the capitol and surrounding towns, these two factions remain neutral due to the Tri-Bound Empire's union.

Neutral

These two factions are known to one another however remain neutral due to the laws implemented within the Kingdom of Man. Outside of the Human domain the EE might consider themselves to be a little more intolerant to the Guard however they both are given the job of protecting others so do see eye to eye most of the time.

Neutral

The Platinum Templars are known for not being socially active however the Enigma Spire resides within the human capitol so the Platinum Templars appreciate the attempt at security. Truth being that the PT wouldn't need security even if the most evil individual sought to destroy them. They are aware of each others existence and the Guard will sometimes be called to deliver news to Prof Amazz in his tower.

Neutral Dislike

The Royal Guard dislike the Zhentarim due to their inescapable god complex and up themself members. The Zhentarim are paid handsomely for their private contracts with the King whereas the Guard are paid in peanuts comparatively. The Zhentarim seek to replace the Royal Guard with their own soldiers and members however the King knows this is what would increase their reputation and influence. They don't come to blows however will maybe mock each other if they were to meet.

Neutral

The Royal Guard keeps the human cities and towns safe in general, however don't offer full protection and are easily corrupted. The Artificers Bracket know them as a bit of a nuisance as they will sometimes confiscate items from an Artificer's Caravan if they feel it is a threat when actually could simply be a gyroscope for an automaton.

Unfriendly Factions

Even though the Laborers Union supplies the King and his Guard with their weaponry and armor, they aren't treated nicely by the Guard. They consider themselves above the laborers and have mild power trips being able to boss them around and tell them what to do. A member of the Guard could quite easily go and get his sword sharpened whilst on patrol without any consequence and the Union member would have to oblige. However, this would be a risky gamble as the Union would have every right to strike back with legal action should they get enough of a following for the call for exile.

Unfriendly Factions

The Graycrawlers are known to the Royal Guard and will most likely be arrested should they be discovered however the Guard have hired them in the past to help catch criminals and wrong doers. The Guard will always be on high alert should a member of the Graycrawlers come into their town or city and may even attempt an arrest without probable cause.

Aggressive Factions

Whilst not openly aggressive to one another, these two factions are known to hate one another. If you are a member of the Guard, you are filth to the Guild and vice versa. The Guild are known to start fights and cars chaos within cities and towns and the Guard are known to be needlessly aggressive and violent with them if making an arrest. The Guard, standing for the upkeep of the law and the Guild standing against the oppression of the lower classes - doesn't make a good mix.
