Valmon
the Old Race of Men
Valmon is a word from antiquity used for Human. The knowledge is lost to which language this is from. It is from this the modern scholastic term 'mon' comes from. While many point to the Jenuwan Order in categorizing mankind into the modern understanding of ethnic groups; Normon, Somon, Ismon, and Dagmon, these terms have been in uses since at least the beginning of the Lakorthian Age. The use of Valmon meaning the human race has long fallen out of use in common circles today. Most would say they do not even know the word or its meaning outside its use in the name of the Valmon Age. For the scholars of history and people however the modern term refers to any ethnic or culture group of humans that little is known. These groups are often precursors to modern groups that either trace their ancestors to these little-known groups or have some legends and lore of lost peoples from their land's ancient past.
For those that speak of such things Valmon were the human race before magic grew weaker. A race of man on par with the elf.
There is an older cultures of men before the Valmon, such as the Katilan, or the Enoshate, but these have not been categorized by the Jenuwan Order, as there is too little information to understand them fully, and what is known is largely folklore and conjecture. These along with the even older generation of mankind, the Daemon, are considered more myth than history by modern scholars.
