Lucis
Lucis, the former capital of the Lenosites, was a small yet significant town located on a picturesque peninsula extending into the tranquil Lonysus Lake. Surrounded by the majestic beauty of the Divine Forest, Lucis offered an enchanting backdrop for its residents, before its fall.
Situated in the southern region, Lucis was separated from Vesynite territory by the treacherous Hostile Lands. To the northwest, the eastern edge of the mysterious Duskwood shrouded the town in an aura of mystique, while towards the southeast, beyond the Divine Forest, lay the serene expanse of the Twilight Woods.
Serving as the seat of Lenosite power, Lucis held great importance within the region. Despite its small-town charm, it functioned as a hub of activity and governance for the Lenosite community. The idyllic setting between the sparkling Lonysus Lake and the sprawling Divine Forest created an atmosphere of tranquility and natural wonder, cherished by its inhabitants.
The residents of Lucis took pride in preserving their unique cultural heritage, inspired by the surrounding natural wonders. They worked diligently to uphold their traditions and foster a strong sense of community, reflecting the spirit of the Lenosites in every aspect of town life. Although small in size, Lucis exuded grace and elegance, embodying the essence of the Lenosite people.
However, life in Lucis was not without challenges. The proximity to the Hostile Lands served as a constant reminder of the volatile relationship between the Lenosites and the Vesynites. Despite these challenges, the Lenosites remained determined to protect their town and maintain their way of life amidst regional uncertainties.
In April of 475, Lucis became the stage for a pivotal moment in its history when Hedezzenar, the Master Cleric of the Crusaders of Lonysus, overthrew the Lenosites' leader, High Priest Ezra. Capturing Ezra and his champion, Kezias Lightbringer, Hedezzenar rallied his troops and initiated a march west on the city of Auris. During his ruthless purge in Auris, known as the Genocide of Auris, the Thalantir, a renowned group of heroes, successfully rescued Ezra, Kezias, and a number of other prisoners from deep within Lucis, marking a significant act of defiance against Hedezzenar's tyranny.
On 26 May 475, this serene and historic capital met its end when it was captured by the unified Vesynite army under Isaias Darkson. The fall of Lucis marked a significant turning point in the region's history, as control shifted from the Lenosites to the Vesynites, altering the balance of power and bringing an era of Lenosite dominance to a close.
