Dead Isle
In distant taverns around the islands of the southern Empire, young and inexperienced pirates will often have the great idea of burying ill-gotten treasure on this unassuming mound of bleak grey granite until the heat from authorities dies down. Its remote, there's no one out here, the island is well this side of Domsport and whatever hides in that black gloom to the south. Its got a cool and imposing name that scares off idle tourists. And even the Empire Navy doesn't patrol this far east.
When they arrive here, they usually turn away to bury it somewhere else. Dead Isle is bleak, its remote, there's no one here, there's nothing of value out here, and there's no way to bury anything because the island is one giant hard rock. A gold dragon seen occassionally flying overhead between Domsport and the mainland further discourages idle travellers.
Update 0.2.9 agf. With Rin securing use of a teleportation circle in the Old Empire necropolis, the Guild has begun building docks and supply hubs along the coast, and has stationed one of its longboats on permanent ferry duty to the mainland. This positions Dead Isle as a small but invaluable outpost in direct defiance of Jae'Kalan V and his undead hordes to the north. Adventurers are cautioned to move promptly from the teleportation circle to the docks, as disrespect to the dead will not be tolerated by the Dead King of the isle.
