History
House Quay was founded in the aftermath of The Irogonie Aggression as a reward for the service of House Locke of Riverfoot. It is one of the four houses created in the lands siezed from Irogonie as part of their surrender which would later come to form The Foxworth Duchy.
The house's founder, ser Derrick Quay, was the fifth child of House Locke and had no expectation of ever holding any responsibility - at a relatively young age he was allowed to pursue a love match with Lady Alexus Quay, then a kitchen girl in Riverfoot. Together they have one child, Violett Quay.
Ser Derrick was amongst those infected with Drowner's Lung at the Tourney at The Hollow in the opening days of 443KS, remaining there to receive treatment and prevent the disease from spreading further.
On returning from the Tourney at The Hollow, Lady Ophelia Foxworth-Hayford took Violett into her care as an apprentice to her Spire Advisor Alis. She is accompanied by her Sworn Sword ser Herrath Deverel.
In February of 443KS, attempts to deal with the Black City of Stathgow triggered a spreading of the phenomena haunting that place, leading to The Disaster at Cainfield and the death of Lady Alexus Quay and the house's Spire Advisor Ellena at the hands of the Shades assaulting the castle. However, some other effect triggered by the White Knights created a Strange Aura over the castle, holding the Shades within at peace.
In May of 443KS Lady Ophelia Foxworth-Hayford commissioned a new settlement outside of Lauris Farm to be the site of New Caincastle, the new seat of House Quay. Construction began in June.
In August of 443KS, following a Hunt in The Dyrwood Lady Ophelia arranged for ser Maecy Vance and two Household Knights to enter the service of House Quay.
