Jydengiss, Slave Cities of

The Jydengiss City States were settled by gnomes who remain the greater majority of the population.   Conquered by the Helegu Khaganate, Jydengiss are now servile to the Blue Host Helegu. Desiring control of the legendary gnomish forges and the incredible weapons and tools thay can produce, the Helegu have brought the cities entirely under their control with no gnomish emigration allowed and the residents reduced to slaves of the Khaganate.   Now referred to as the Slave Cities of Jydengiss, the city states remain at centre of important trade routes through northern Hadea.   There are 6 city-states being Krams, Zeldraddooms, Lietus, Thantobuss, Tams and Qido.   Internal affairs are managed by the gnomes through the Living Ancestors with, an assembly of living ancestors occurring on mid-winter's night each year.

History

The city-state of Qadi was first founded in 2,000 BDR by the gnome champion Jydengiss and quickly became the centre of trade to inland northern Zapaden.   Other city-states were established by a growing gnome population and at its height there were more than 20 cities under as part of the Jydengiss City States.   The city-states were in decline well before the Helegu invasions with many settlements abandoned and overrun with monsters, bandits and supernatural forces. With the arrival of the vastly militarily superior Helegu and abandoned by their allies the Jydengiss surrendered without a fight and have since been the slaves of the Helegu.
