OPEN: Our heroes do battle with a little gaggle of goblins, whose motives are unknown. It seems as though just a group of opportune goblin thugs, looking to rob and steal. The street is quickly turning to a thin mud in the drizzle, and the air is chilly. Cold and wet.

Not a season for shipping; most of the ships are at harbor off the coast of Jack City.
Winter: Drab and grey, low lying clouds, almost constant drizzle for the next two months. The weather just chills you to the bone. Hard to get dry, even harder to stay dry. Being outside means being hunched to the cold and damp.
By now, the maples and aspens have lost their brown-yellow leaves, and their fingers are skeletal and reaching up. Most of the trees are fir and spruce, and these tower much higher above everything. Where the party is now though, there are no trees at all. Just water-logged weeds, opportune at the roadside.
