California City is now a vibrant city full to the brim with beings of all species and walks of life. It was built as an alternative to nearby Los Angeles, and though its development initially hit a few roadblocks, its population soon boomed and the place became a haven for supernatural beings who found themselves the subject of fear in smaller settlements.

The population of California City is primarily human, both variant and not, though of course many other types of beings inhabit the area. Non-humans and variant humans typically find more acceptance in larger settlements such as California City.
