Val'enkash

The central city of the Va'len Floodplains. Spread over the long flat plains and separated from the tranquil farmlands by the low walls it holds along its edges. The city itself is mostly low residing aside from a few tall towers within the middle that hold much of the power within the city.

Demographics

Primarily human, but a good portion remain elven and other small sects of races exist within the numerous populace. Much of the main populace is housed with the walls to keep the fields clear of settlements.

Government

Run like many of the Assarian Empire cities. A ruling body controls the area and divides the tasks needed by the Empire. Only here, much of the food raised by the workers and farmers is given away without much money given back in return. Most years the farmers have excess because of the fields bounty, but some years they are worn thin.

Defences

The city itself contains walls to keep the citizens protected from the outside lands and separate them from the fields, but no real defenses aside from any guards in the area exist otherwise

Industry & Trade

Virtually no industry here is run here, most of the work is put into crop growing through whatever means the people can do. Trade is heavily export, whiel some is brought in in times of celebration

Infrastructure

Aqueducts and aquifers for water storage and movement for the massive number of people living within the walls and the crowded streets.

Assarian Empire

History

The city of Val'enkash is another of the older cities within the Empire. The area of the floodplains was settled second after Pov'rakea in the north, and offered much food to the growing populace, exploding the settlements and people outwards over the plains.

Architecture

The houses of villagers and workers here are complex wooden contraptions. Not the best of living conditions. Tightly packed and intricately woven for maximum housing area for living quarters, daily routines are very rarely private inside the city walls. Outside however, the wide open fields over much solace from the cramped lifestyle

Geography

Built upon rolling flat plains and floodplains, the city itself is built upon land that floods on a regular basis from the coastal rains to the east, and the rainwater from the west. The foundations of the city have been tested over time, but have held for many years, and only sinking a little over time.
