Personal history

Mava was birthed into the world along with the other gods at the beginning of the Age of Light and Creation. She forged the celestials that would become the grand army that eternally fights back against the voidlings. She would be the gods' great storer of knowledge and caster of great and new energies in their war against the voidlings. However, with her complete knowledge of the energies of Nature, Radiance, and Chaos she grew mad and eventually relegated her mind to three entities that could equally contribute to sustainability, creation, and change. These would be her aspects of the Maiden, the Mother, and the Crone which are also the names of the three moons shining above Tenebra even in the darkest of nights.   After the creation of the planes, she would concentrate on the energies surrounding the world and would speak the second words of magic, the first being Primis Speech, giving birth to Aetherial Channeling or Arcane Casting. The Thurisaz were master-channelers of the winds of the Aethereal Plane, and thus allowed them to forge not just the aesthetics and physicality of all planes but how many would channel magic for eons on. They were her brightest pupils in the gardens of primordial forging, and it would be a great shame to her for eons onward when they were put to the sword during the events of Ragnogoth.   After the deaths of her disciples, she was forced to consign the mortal's utilization of magic in the world to a state where no mortal could challenge a god with the knowledge they gathered in arcane tomes. The Maiden would give a simple reminder to mortals' casting with a headache, the Mother would cause hallucinations of the destruction of what one can do with magic, and the Crone would horrifically disfigure and mutate those that failed to give tribute to the people Goddess of Twilight. However, the Crone had hidden a weapon away from the gods should they grow far too infatuated with their own egos and outright relent more against the Goddess of Magic. A ritual of undeath was written in the most hidden and forbidden forests of Koshevoi. The ritual would allow a mortal to be able to challenge the likes of lesser deities and beyond and swallow the god's very souls to empower the undead creature. Only a true champion of the Crown would be able to venture forth into the Forest of Ascension without perishing immediately.   The goddess would lie in wonder, creation, and regulation for the next 300,000 years waiting for one to break her free of her monotonous prison. Amused was she when Kagia approached her to create a monster to carouse the mortal kind into a regulated and world-spanning empire. It was then that she created the first Versipellis, but she would be rewarded for her grand creation with actual imprisonment in Empyrea. Magic would be cut off from the world along with the gods' interference with mortal lives. And when the Empyrean God's bargain with the Gehennan Gods ended in their own failure, she laughed and jeered each and every divinity in Empyrea.   And when 100 years into the Great Holy War had passed she still laughed at how much caging her led to the god's failures, even when protecting her from Addramalech ravaging her. It was then her mind truly broke into madness in her Crone state as she whispered to one human slave boy, Koschei. That slave boy would be a prodigy in arcane casting that was able to wield even blood magic without knowing how vampires wielded the arcane in their blood, but the boy had a natural affinity for the most forbidden and maddening of magic, necromancy. A thirst for power and knowledge swelled in him as he grew into a man with an army of undead slaves at his side, bringing forth entropy and destruction to his enemies. He had become the Crone's prized Prophet and would complete his ascension of power when he walked through the turbulent Forest of Ascension and read the Ritual of Immortality. Koschie was no longer Koschie the Young after he completed the ritual and consumed a great many souls, he was now Koschei the Endless and the first lich.   Seeing the rise of her Chosen, the Queen of Magic laughed as her weapon killed those that disturbed her very presence and failed to protect her as their very souls were consumed by Koschei. By the end of the war, Koschie had an immortal army and throne with a vassal of lesser liches at his side. Mava would continue to praise her Champion even at the end of the war and the release of her power to make the barrier of Mictlan. But something else was released at the end of the war, a child. Her child, and that of Adrammelech, had been birthed into the world as she praised his dual persona and names of Captiel and Carnival.   Currently, Mava wishes for nothing but the annihilation of Adrammelech and her armies. Her Champion has ensured that his proxy wars with those around him only serve to fight back against the forces of Hell and ensure Koschie's continued influence for centuries to come. Mava, now free of the ridicule and regulation of Kagia after her death, continues to sow more seeds of chaos to her own machinations that seem to contradict one another in a myriad of ways as most of her followers suppose this is exactly as she has planned.   Mava's goals would be thwarted when the Second Great Holy War occurred and the Pantheon of the Black Star invaded Empyrea with their allies. She would be faced in combat with Koschei and his wife Marya as their souls had been connected in a diefic marriage. Koschei and Marya succeeded in killing Mava and swallowing her souls and knowledge as they became the new Masters of the Aether and destroyed two moons.
