The Requian Coast is the region that was unified by the Requian Empire until its fall in 102 A.G. Cliffs line the shores and climb up to a snowy plateau sticking out of the great stretch mountain that touches the west and east ends of the continent. Rivers flow down these cliffs as waterfalls that enter the Vedalion Ocean through forests of palm and teak trees.
The Greedy, The Holy, and The Fallen
Three major groups have or had major control over the Requian Coast; the
Pirate Syndicate which had won a secret war with the coast at the end of the Golden Age of Piracy that let it gain the isles off of the coast, the religious group
Sea's Appeal who worships the goddess
Shae who uses her sacrifice to save the coast to control the kingdoms on the coast, and the late
Requian Empire who once had the kingdoms of the coasts unified under them. As conflict continues in the region, these three forces may gain or lose their power over it. Will the Syndicate absorb the coast, or will Sea's Appeal reclaim the isles afloat on their goddess's domain, or perhaps the Requian Empire will return from its death? Only time will tell.
Kingdoms of the Coast
The Requian Coast is made up of six kingdoms that had once joined under the Requian Empire: the Kraken Cliffs, the Snowy Plateau, Lake Luster, the Footprints, the Coral Forests, and Kraken's Gulf.
Kraken Cliffs
The cliffs stand tall, looming over the trade routes of merchants from across Great Eethill and beyond. The city of Seaview sits on its stone throne commanding hundreds of ships to protect not only itself but its allied kingdoms of the coast.
The Snowy Plateau
A once great lake elevated by the cliffs became frozen over, leaving a fierce and unforgiving landscape. Thankfully it has the Ig-Knights, warriors of the Hearth who uses fire magic to allow ships to move through the area and protect them from frost giants and beasts forgotten in the waters below.
Lake Luster
Unknown to the mortals who awoken there, Lake Luster had experienced many changes throughout the great slumber, causing many strange magical phenomena to appear on the small islands that dot the water. Factions based on these phenomena have led to turf wars over the islands, the only place where safety can be found for all factions being the city of Syn in its center.
The Footprints
The first Kraken attack had devastated the flatlands below the cliffs, creating deep marshes and flooded plains in its path. Wanting challenge over practicality, adventurers sought out to reach the ruins of the kingdom's capital and restore it, leading to the creation of New Learbog.
The Coral Forests
The battle between Shae and the Kraken during its second attack devastated another part of the coast- this time in a magical sense. The blood that poured out of the monstrosity pooled into spots around these forests, turning them into a hybrid of temperate forest and coral forest, containing new creatures derived from land and aquatic animals.
Kraken's Gulf
What lies under the water is a mystery often feared by land lovers. To the Merfolk of Kraken's Gulf, they see the dangers of these mysteries as mere obstacles to great truths about the Slumber from in the ruins that sleep on the ocean floor.
The Season's Isles
Off the shores of the coast are isles split into four groups, each named after a season based on the islands' climates. Much like the ruins in Kraken's Gulf, these isles hold secrets to uncover, but unknown dangers lurk in the waters in between the islands, sleep on top of their mountains and hide among their forests.
